"Clean and modern hotel that is a short walk from Nakatsugawa station. The staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast at the hotel had a decent selection and was delicious. The public bath was extremely clean and much appreciated after the walk between Magome and Tsumago. Not a complaint, but more of a comment is that the mattresses were very firm. Though this seemed to be the trend at the other hotels we stayed at in Japan. You will need to remove and lock up your shoes in the lobby. This is common at ryokan and some hotels in Japan. Though, you can certainly tell it keeps the carpets in the hallways and rooms much cleaner in general. Would definitely recommend staying at Onn for anyone planning to stay in Nakatsugawa"

"This hotel looks like it was designed for people just passing through (truckers, sales people etc) not really tourists but it was fine. Small rooms, nice breakfast helpful staff, priced right."

"Quiet and older onsen by the river and train tracks in Gero onsen town. A shuttle service is providing certain hours, but we opted to walk to the resort from the train station. After a hot bath I recommend having a nice cold milk from the vending machines. Staff was friendly, room was clean, and it was fun to try the dinner/breakfast. Some instructions and info on how and what we were eating would have been nice but not knowing is a fun part of that experience! Thank you for having us!"

"This is a great onsen experience. Great service and friendly staff. The baths are good and clean, and the kaiseki food is fantastic. Building is a bit old, but the traditional rooms were comfortable and atmospheric. Would go again!"

"Very old property and looked tired. Curiously the lift did not go to the 2nd floor where our room was so the 80 year olds had to haul ourselves and luggage up and down a set of steep stairs. Also the bottom sheet of our bed was too small. Nowhere to hang anything. Was the worst hotel of our 4 weeks stay in Japan."
