"We stayed for 10 days and it was conveniently located and very clean. I wished they had air condition in the common aisle area as the weather can get very hot (the room, kitchen area had good air conditioning). "It’s actually one of the most ridiculously overpriced onsen hotel I have ever been. We travel around Japan and have been living in many similar styled ryokans and rarely run into such disappointments. The hotel obviously has dinner option. But neither Expedia nor the hotel provide proper communication for such option. ( Just for comparison, for other hotels that are over 100,000 Yen / night, we always get email communications from the hotels about potential options pre arrival dates). We arrived at the hotel and then being told that we have no dinner because we didn’t choose it. I mean…I need to know about the options first before I can choose it right ? just one email about dinner options is highly appreciated especially considering the prices that we are paying. Also, there is absolutely nothing in the room fridge. The last hotel we stayed before this one provides 17 types of complimentary drinks… so you can tell the differences. And the so called onsen is basically just a bathtub in the yard. Hotel recommended us to a nearby sushi place for dinner and it’s nasty. The sushi maker took in cash bills by bare hands and went back to make sushi for us without even washing his hands. I would probably pay 1/3 or 1/2 of the prices for this place. It’s not a bad place. But it’s definitely not worth the price. 200USD/night max for the quality of the facilities and services. It’s awful that we paid close to 700 USD/ night for this. Don’t go"

Awesome location with natural beauty

"I love the location, everyday I wake up from a beautiful sunrise right at my windows. And the beach right in front of it. You can see the early bird surfers already head at catching the waves. Walking distance to the Aoshima Temple and the Botanical garden. Free parking at the front of the hotel and you definitely want to rent a car. The train and bus service in Miyazaki is subpar. Basically no matter where you are going to stay. You will need a car to go somewhere. Part of the reason Miyazaki still maintained its natural beauty. Well, if you happened to have a bad weather that day and really don't have a car. Get the dinner reserve for that day. I learnt my hard lesson. They have restaurant service but reservation only and no exception. The restaurants in the area are not exactly follow what Google maps post says. So, good luck. 🍀 Just call before you head out. And 7-11 and Lawson are closeby about 10-15 mins walks. That's why rent a car it worths the trouble. The hotel itself is a bit dated, but with a nice retro charm to it and I love the rooftop onsen. It is awesome in the morning time when the weather is permitted. The staff are nice but I feel that they are a bit play by the book a bit too much. If they can lax the rules a little, I could have better experience. Not that I didn't. Just would be more comfortable. "

"Review as an English foreigner. I thoroughly enjoyed my time here. I arrived in the evening and the staff was not there and would not respond to my messages. Thankfully, a group of older Japanese men were there and helped me get in, choose a bed and get set up for the night. They were great and led to a great Hostel culture. Comfy bed and clean. I would recommend, but make sure you check in early or I doubt the hostel owner will be of much help, unfortunately. Though I may have just been unlucky."

Good Memories from Aoshima

"5 stars for the owners kindness and hospitality. He drove us to a supermarket to buy some food, took us to Aoshima and drove us to the airport the day we left. He was super friendly offer to the photos and help us make our trip pleasant. We stayed in the trailer. It was the first time to stay in a trailer for my wife and son. They loved it and I am sure it will be a great family memory for all of us. オーナーの親切さとおもてなしに星5つです。私たちをスーパーまで車で連れて行ってくれたり、青島まで案内してくれたり、出発の日には空港まで送ってくれました。とてもフレンドリーで、写真を撮ってくれたり、旅を快適に過ごせるようにいろいろと助けてくれました。私たちはトレーラーに宿泊しました。妻と息子にとっては初めてのトレーラー体験でしたが、とても気に入って、家族みんなの素敵な思い出になったと思います。"
