"This place isn’t close to the stations but it’s very handy to see the shrines and other places like restaurants and convenience store. It doesn’t get 5 stars cause there isn’t even one cup in the room. Had to make coffee in a paper cup without a spoon and supply your own coffee! Nice view from the window. Friendly staff and spacious. Well priced. "

"Wakasa Bettei surprised me as one of my favorite hotels in my 8-day Japan trip. I think it came down to the fact that the premises were cozy and new, the location was serene and close to Todaiji, and the staff were just so friendly. Absolutely gorgeous meals for dinner kaiseki and Japanese-style breakfast too. There's a goofy charm in having a violinist serenade us during dinner, and offering to take photos of us in our ukatas smiling next to their mascot. Both public bath options they offered...
