"A beautiful escape with incredible potential, though some operations need refining! The exterior of the barn is stunning and the rooms are okay. The property has a peaceful vibe with the caretaker being welcoming and attentive to our needs. However, the kitchen experience needs work. The service is quite slow, and they would really benefit from focusing on a few specific dishes to perfect their menu rather than offering too much at once. Also, if you are sitting in the penthouse lounge, the...

"The positives: The staff at this property was very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The hot water in the kitchen and bathroom was excellent, far better than most places I've stayed in Kenya, especially rural Kenya. The wifi internet was strong and reliable. Our pet dog was welcomed here. The negatives: The main issue I have with this cabin were the bugs. The cabin is not sealed, so bugs of all sizes are able to enter through the floor, windows, doors etc. We shared the property with...

Naro Moru River Lodge

10/10 Excellent

"A secluded, idyllic place surrounded by nature. Extremely kind, accommodating and helpful staff. A perfect base to discover Mount Kenya area! As a board on the hotel’s nature path says: “you are entering a stressfree zone”."

Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari

10/10 Excellent

"I went with my husband and kids and it was wonderful. The à la carts restaurant was very good for dinner and there were lots of options for dinner. There were lots to do for kids including a maze, an animal orphanage, fishing and taking their dogs out for a walk. Benson ensured we were happy with our rooms so we appreciated his cheerful help! We had a great time! They arranged a wonderful safari for us with Francis. Ask for the feather pillows."

Falcon Heights Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"A beautiful oasis in the middle of busy Nanyuki! Very reasonable rates for a gem in the middle of town. 100% safe compound for foreigners (behind a large gate). Great workout gym with modern equipment, and affordable massages and other treatments in a relaxing spa area. Breakfast was the best I've had in Kenya (over multiple trips in 30 years). Bar is pretty cool. Staff helped me change the booking with no fees. One warning - the walls are a bit thin so if there is a party going on down the hall, you might as well just go join in the fun. The locals stay there will welcome you."
