"Highly recommend for a peaceful, quiet, comfortable tropical getaway where the staff is highly attentive and will go the extra mile to make their guests happy."
"This place is beautiful and serene. We loved the size of it and having a more intimate experience with fewer guests. The staff were so gracious and well trained, they really were the highlight of our experience there.
Another highlight was the food. The chef did an excellent job of choosing the menu items and introducing us to Fijian food. The freshness of the fruits and vegetables was excellent and we felt that we had very good choices.
The only downside to our stay was unseasonable weather that kept us from doing several things we were looking forward to doing like kayaking and paddle boarding, but we did get to snorkel although it was chilly. The house reef is very good and the guided snorkel was fantastic so highly recommended.
The bures are very nice, we loved the outdoor shower and the hammock and beach chairs. We also loved to be able to be barefoot throughout the property as it was so well maintained. The gardens and flowers throughout are gorgeous."
"We enjoyed our stay at Manta Ray. The food was lovely and so was our room. Make sure you check the ferry timetable as we ended up needing to book a helicopter out! Also check that the meal plan is something you want as it is compulsory. We booked to swim with the manta rays and ended up seeing FIVE! It was totally magical."
"My friends and I booked this stay at the last minute because we wanted an adventure and to get a feel for the 'real' Fiji. This homestay did not disappoint. Our host Bill and his wife Paula were absolutely wonderful. Bill is an excellent communicator who is prompt, professional and honest. He happily answered all of our questions and organised all of our transport and activities. Paula is an incredible chef and every meal we ate was full of local produce, either grown on their farm or caught on the reef. We were even lucky enough to score a crayfish dinner at no extra cost.
During our time on Wayasewa, we explored the village and school, toured Bill's farm, met countless friendly people, attended a beautiful Church service, participated in a Kava Ceremony with the Village Chief and got to go snorkelling with Manta Rays and Reef Sharks. In addition to this, Bill is a wealth of knowledge and we all learned so much about Fijian history, life and culture from our conversations with him. Our 3 nights on Wayasewa were the highlight of our two week stay in Fiji and all four of us feel that we got exceptional value for money.
If you're looking for a five star resort, this isn't the stay for you, but if you're wanting an authentic insight into how people really live in a Fijian village, then this is the best homestay you will ever find. It is wonderful to know that the money we spent over our stay all goes to these lovely people and the development of their beautiful village."
