Warm welcome but cold stay

We had a warm welcome from the owner, and the apartment we stayed in was a good size, with a separate bedroom and living/kitchen area. The apartment is above a garage (separate to the rest of the hostel) and below the owners living area. The kitchen was mostly well equipped, with a microwave, oven, hob, filter coffee machine, dishwasher and washing machine, plenty of crockery and pans. However, there is no kettle (we used a pan to boil water on the hob) and it was woefully short on cutlery, having only two forks and three knives. And we only found these in the morning after our first night when we checked in the dishwasher (which hadn't been on from the previous tenants.) We visited in a cold week in May and found the apartment was warm on the first evening (after we turned the thermostat up from 0 to 20) but the next morning there was no hot water and no heating. After asking the owner about it, she discovered the boiler had packed in. It was working again two days later, but it turns out that there is no heating overnight or in the mornings anyway! Plenty of hot water (when the boiler was working) but I'd recommend bringing an electric heater if you're staying in the colder months.

Gran amabilidad, bonito lugar y buen desayuno

De la estancia en el Refugio de Gredos destacaría la amabilidad y atención de la dueña, una persona muy agradable y preocupada en todo momento de que estuviésemos a gusto. La habitación era acogedora, excelente para desconectar, buena limpieza, el desayuno excelente.

Absolutamente recomendable

Hemos pasado unas fantásticas vacaciones en El Refugio de Gredos, nos hemos alojado en el apartamento que está junto al hostal. Cómodo para las tres personas que hemos estado ,además con una terracita muy agradable para comer o cenar. Además del alojamiento se incluía el desayuno sencillo pero riquísimo , como en casa, tostadas de hogaza candeal como las de antes con aceite o mantequilla y mermelada y unas magdalenas caseras ,todo muy bueno y se puede repetir ,de hecho te lo ofrecen siempre . La propietaria encantadora y pendiente de lo que necesites. Para repetir sin duda. Gracias por el detalle

Fin de semana en pareja

La estancia ha sido estupenda. La habitación estaba muy limpia y Conchi, la propietaria, es un sol. La primera mañana no pudimos quedarnos a desayunar y luego nos informó que nos podría haber dejado preparado el desayuno antes, un detalle por su parte. La única pega que podemos ponerle es que las paredes de las habitaciones son un poco finas y se escucha bastante al resto de huéspedes, por lo demás un buen sitio para hospedarse.
