The house with the palm tree
At 150 metres from the beach, this 120 sq.m. two-storey house is conveniently located near mini markets, beach bars, restaurants and nightlife, while the small distance from the beach front ensures quiet days and evenings at the balcony, if you opt for that. Built in 1978 by my parents, a civil engineer and an archaeologist, it has been my family's summer house for 4 decades. I renovated it in 2019.
Having a double frontage, facing east and west, and very high ceilings (at 3 metres), the house is full of light. After the recent renovation, the interior is now furnished and decorated with items reflecting the 70ies design trends, mixed and matched with vintage items of older date, and modern ones.
Hopefully, it is equipped with anything a visitor might need for a short break or longer holidays: Wifi, laundry machine and ironing equipment, air conditioning, fireplace, TV and DVD player, radiators, fans, essentials (hot water, towels, bed sheets etc), hairdryer, workspace desk, gym. It also has extensive family features: babycot, changing cushion, children’s books and toys, children’s dinnerware, high chair, table corner and plug guards. The kitchen is equipped with oven, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, boiler, coffee makers, and an extensive collection of electric kitchen appliances, cookware and tableware. The two balconies, the veranda and the garden are equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture and a BBQ set.
The house has an electronic smart lock at the entrance door, operating with either a card or a pin number. You will not require a physical person's presence in order to enter the house on your arrival.
Nea Potidea is just 48.4 km from Thessaloniki Airport. The intercity bus (KTEL) station to and from Thessaloniki, as well as to and from the rest of Chalkidiki's first peninsula (Kassandra) is a 2 minutes walk from the house.
The beach is at 150 metres from the house. Beyond the large variety of recreation options you will easily discover on your own at 150 m., on the beach front, you can additionally discover the material evidence of history on your evening walks by the ancient walls at the Potidea strait under the bridge and the ancient walls of the site.
