"The hotel staff were very good, the room clean & beds good. We had a good night with undisturbed sleep & a hearty breakfast. The hotel building is in need of some TLC though, threadbare/frayed stair carpets, the chair in our room needed reupholstering, paint work, woodwork & door frames particularly at suitcase height were bashed & chipped. The overall impression is good though - clean & pleasant smelling, but on closer inspection it is tired & needs refreshing."

"Bed was squeaky, no water pressure for the shower. Had to hold in hand to wash properly. Bathroom requires upgrade. Breakfast was very good and staff very friendly. Surroundings lovely. "

"Oh my word what a gem we have found, this hotel blew our socks off,even thing about it was just perfect, from the opulence of the colours and materials of the furnishings to the reminders of what the hotel was as used as through the years. The cleanliness of everything was outstanding, we cannot wait to return everyone was so friendly and helpful."
