Good for the price, just one think i was not happy about is that the room I booked was not available up on my arrival, so I was offered a different room saying its a free upgrade for a day (which i didnt ask for). And was asked to move to a different room the next day when i was trying to relax after a busy day. That was annoying as I had to repack my things while i was dealing with the jetlag and tired. When I went to the new room, the AC was not working properly so had to go back and ask them to get that check. The filter was blocked and it was blowing the dust straight to the bed. However the maintenance guy was nice and apologetic. This could have been avoided if one of them would have checked the room before asking me to move in to that room. So they need some improvement in how they manage these things.

Nettes Hotel mit Sanierungsbedard (Zimmer)

Wir haben keinen großen Luxus erwartet, waren aber dennoch über den Zustand speziell des Zimmers erstaunt. Beim Betreten kam einem schon modriger Geruch in die Nase und im Bad haben die Wände geschimmelt. Die Ausstattung selbst war in Ordnung, der Außenbereich und das Pool schön anzusehen und bequem zu liegen. Zugang zum Strand und Meer optimal.

This place is basic. The area isn’t nice, and the hotel itself could really do with a face lift. It’s ok for one night if you’re coming from or going to the airport like we were, but the hotel next door is much nicer.

Comfortable

The room was bright and clean and the shower was great. I wasn't a great fan of the food but that was more personal food choice than the quality. The hotel is just off a busy street but it is quiet and feels secluded and is right on the beach.

Enkel og grei innsjekk tross av tidspunkt da resepsjonen er døgnåpen. Personalet er supervennlig, noe som går igjen på Sri Lanka. Veldig praktisk å kunne kjøpe kaldt vann I resepsjonen når som helst da det ikke er kjøleskap på rommet. Rommene er store og de fleste har balkong. Greit bad med bra dusj til prisen. Liten dagligvare som har snacks, drikke etc. rett ved hotellet. Nyt sola i hagen rett ved stranda, bad i havet eller i bassenget. 25 min i bil fra flyplassen. Anbefales for et avslappende opphold ved ankomst/avreise.

you get what you pay for

We stayed here for several nights at the beginning of our trip around Sri Lanka to give us some rest and to visit Colombo. The hotel is nice enough – a little rough around the edges but perfectly fine. A/C and fan in the room, hard but big bed, safe, huge shower with strong water pressure and an abundance of hot water. Only thing we didn’t like was that the room had no fridge – in the heat of Negombo, cold water was essential so not having a fridge meant we constantly had to buy cold water as and when we needed it. Luckily there is a small convenience store 1 min walk form the hotel that was selling basic drinks and snacks for a bargain price (1litred bottle of water cost about 25p). We had a room with a balcony which offered lovely views of the beach and sea. We went in September and the waves were way too big to go swimming in. Also, as soon as walked along the beach we were hassled by relentless hawkers. We ended up sitting in the hotel garden instead (padded sun loungers and free towels provided) – the hawkers would still call out to you but were not allowed to enter hotel grounds, so that offered some degree of peace. For ease, we ate at the hotel for dinner twice: limited menu with nothing too special on it, your standard mix of European staples (burgers and pizza) with one or two Sri Lankan meals. All very reasonably priced – a chicken pizza cost about £3 (just be wary of the bones!). There are a few restaurants within walking distance of the hotel along the main road,
