Four night family holiday getaway. The property is clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The views are amazing. We are not skiers, but the property is literally right next to the slope.
We had an amazing stay at this slope side rental at Wintergreen VA Ski Resort! The ski-in ski-out access was incredibly convenient, making our winter getaway hassle-free. The host was super responsive, addressing all our questions promptly. A perfect choice for a ski vacation!
Loved the place! Location is great - although the slope wasn’t accessible because of conditions. Regardless, it is very close to the lodge. Beds were comfy and the rooms were functional. Exactly was our group needed. Host is easy to get a hold of and is very accommodating.

Family Weekend
Home is In desperate need of updating.Kitchen cabinets must be original to the 70’s.Doors would not shut.Views and fireplace were a big plus.Don’t think we will stay here again.
Home was in perfect location for intermediate skiers. Ski in right behind house. Parking was terrible. The house shares parking lot with neighbors and they had 5 vehicles parked there over the weekend in a lot that will hold 3. They did leave us one spot. We found parking areas along the street. We had no firewood for the fireplace, couldn't find any trash bags or dish washer detergent so we used our own and washed dishes by hand. Would be helpful if there were directions to operate the heating system.
We had a great time! The house was just as described. Hosts were very welcoming and had great communication. It was a great house for our family of six with just enough space.
Great communication with owner, they love the home so you will as well. Home is located off of lower tyro and just have to walk up/down a little hill from the home. Snacks were provided which were super handy! 0 complaints at all staying here we will probably be back
We had a blast on the slopes and this house was a great location. The owner was quick to respond to all messages. The house could use a deep clean. Provided sheets and towels had stains. The grill on the front porch is not useable.
The house was situated on a beautiful street above the ski slopes and provided beautiful views from the inside of the house and outside balcony. Also, the house was well stocked and lacked nothing. Forgot to pack bandaids but there were some in the bathroom when my 91 year old mom cut herself. The house was clean and well organized. Communication with the owner was easy - he even warned us that a large bear had been spotted outside on the walkway one night! Highly recommend this house to stay in. The only warning is that there are 30 steps to the front door but after a few times of navigating them it got easier and even helped my mom. They were like physical therapy. You don't want to do them but afterwards feel much better for the effort. Wonderful experience all around!
Great property, very comfortable. We enjoyed the location and convenience to the slopes... even with Lower Tyro closed. Everything you could want for a mountain stay! The home is very nice and the owners are prompt to respond. Planning a return visit!
This stay was amazing both location and host! The connivence of being able to ski in/out allowed us to thoroughly enjoy our days on the mountain. Jimmy is an excellent host who provided clear instructions and was readily available if needed for clarifications with the property. The kitchen had everything needed from pots and pans to coffee in the morning. We definitely enjoyed our first stay at Wintergreen because of this property and plan on booking again!
Perfect property for ski in/out! We loved staying at Treeloft for our annual ski vacation to Wintergreen! There was plenty of room for two families, and everything was provided to make our stay as stress free as possible to include firewood, coffee, creamers, laundry detergent, shampoo, and conditioner, etc….
Jimmy was so friendly and quick to respond to our questions. We definitely plan on staying agajn next year!
We had a great Labor Day weekend in Wintergreen. The house was conveniently located; beds were comfy; house was cozy with nice deck, fireplace (although we did not use it). We were there with our son and his wife. Perfect lay-out although you could add more people with the loft bedroom. If you skied, slopes were right out door.
The house was as billed. Pictures are accurate. It is a bit cold and the mini-split has a hard time keeping up. But there is plenty of wood for the fire. Kitchen space is fine. I would prefer a traditional drip coffee maker over the Keurig, which is all that is available. Views are nice. Beds are comfortable. It is technically ski in/ski out but snow was not being blown on lower Tyro for some reason, causing us to have to drive up tge mountain. That was a bummer, but no fault of the owner. All-in-all a good trip.
Our family ski weekend got canceled due to Wintergreen ending their season due to warm weather, but thankfully we were still able to enjoy our time in a beautiful home. The sunrises from Treeloft are breathtaking. So many "extras" such as additional toiletries, snacks, coffee, etc. were provided. We had our grandchildren with us, and they took advantage of some of the games and puzzles. There was plenty of firewood and we enjoyed cozy fires. Ironically, our first full day we spent there we were under a winter weather advisory. It rained, sleeted and was foggy ALL day. Because we were in such an idyllic setting, we were able to spend a perfect day with family and enjoyed watching the wintry mix from the comfort of indoors. The fog was so thick, we couldn't even see the slope outside our window. The grandkids said it was like we were perched in the clouds. All of those "extras" sure came in handy!
Check-in was easy and convenient. Communication response with the owner, Jimmy, was immediate. The beds were extremely comfortable...much more so than I would expect. The grandkids loved the spiral staircase and the loft bedroom.
Treeloft is an ideal place to enjoy time with family...we hope to be back again!
Nice stay could have been great with a few improvements
We had a pleasant stay at Treetop, and there were some very nice touches, but there were definitely some simple improvements that could be made to improve the overall experience.
We were happily greeted by a nice bottle of Virginia Chardonnay and a plentiful supply of coffee. The cabin was clean and comfy in a nice setting.
There were plentiful wine glasses and a nice large set of plates, but no small plates, glass bowls or tall tea glasses. I may be a little particular, but I’m not a fan of eating or drinking out of plastic. Also, no vegetable peeler or ice cream scoop. Otherwise, the kitchen was adequate enough. (If you like to cook, bring your own knives .)
There could be a great view off the back deck, but trees were overgrown blocking the view of the range. A little trimming and it would be great. I suspect that in winter it’s just fine with no foliage on the trees. Decks were nice, but the grill was dirty, ash can was left full, and the chairs on the back deck were dirty and had to be cleaned before we could use them. We had to clean the grill before using it too. Exterior of the cabin could use a good cleaning and paint job.
We had the luck of a cold front that came through, so opened most of the windows for a pleasant experience. Some screens were missing, and one had holes. No AC, but from what Jimmy said there was one on order.
Bedrooms and beds were comfortable, but no place to hang clothes. The Master bedroom had a locked closet and nowhere to put clothes beyond a small bedside nightstand. So, we had to live out of our suitcases for the week. :(
The washing machine was the smallest thing I have ever laid eyes upon and was ancient but worked. Don’t plan on doing much laundry when you’re there.
Flatscreens in each bedroom and large one in living area were really nice.
Also excellent was the water pressure and showerheads in the small but clean, newly re-done bathrooms.
We were there in mid-June so activities included lots of great hikes and climbs, pool time, trips to the Blue Ridge Parkway, and visits to breweries and cideries. The flora and fauna of the area abounds and is wonderful to observe.
Jimmy promptly answered questions and set up keycode for entry and was pleasant to deal with.
All-in-all we had a good stay. Wintergreen, though known for winter fun can be a great time in the summer too.
