Great location, great accomodations, well prepared for our arrival and great communication from the host
The cottage was so charming! We loved it and were so comfortable. The area was so beautiful and very convenient in that we could walk to town or jump right on a trail!
Wonderful, well maintained cottage in the woods, had all the amenities anyone would need, quiet, wonderful hiking trails all around, and just 10-12 minute walk to Nevada City. Great place.
The cottage packs at lot into a small space. The screened-in porch is lovely. The property is close to walking trails and easy walk to town.
Great for a relaxed get-away.
The only change I would make is to upgrade a bit in the kitchen, mostly a new frying pan or two and go through the refrigerator items and spices as some were outdated. We had a wonderful stay, and the owners were prompt about any questions we had. During the storm, Betsy went out of her way to see that we had pertinent info if the power went out. The cleaning lady was attentive and helpful as was the owner’s daughter. It’s a sweet little cabin, and we enjoyed our time there very much. Historic Grass Valley and Nevada City are fun to shop/explore, and there are some nice hikes nearby. We especially liked Buttermilk Bend. We have lots of photos and great memories!
The screened back porch was a lovely place to hang out and listen to the creek after a day of hiking.
Everything is very comfortable: the bed, the couch and the porch chairs.
This is the perfect place to stay near Nevada city. You feel like you are out in the woods, but you are actually close to town and the hiking trails. The cottage was very cozy and extremely well equipped. The owners were very responsive to our requests. The place is perfect for a couple and we hope to return again soon.

Very cute small cottage. Great for a couple or a single person trying to get away. Has a nice back porch. You can take a lil trail and walk 15 min into town. You can drive to the river in like 20 min.
This is our 2nd time to stay there. This time we were able to sit on the screened-in back porch which we truly enjoyed all day. The bed is comfortable and we ate out both nights, Friar Tucks and Brew Haus, highly recommend both.
We will return again because it is truly a relaxing getaway.
Thank you to the wonderful hosts!!!!
Desperately needed a quiet getaway and the cottage was perfect! Easy to find and quiet. Loved sitting in the swing sipping my coffee and listening to the birds and things. Just melted into the bed! So comfortable! Would love to return and stay again!
Super cute cottage that felt secluded and off the beaten path (but just a 15 min walk to Nevada City downtown). Love that the cottage included a full kitchen rather than a kitchenette. The back patio is a great hangout space that has that indoor/outdoor feel! We had a gorgeous day at the Yuba River bookended with dinner at The National and the Holbrooke Hotel. Lovely stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is very cute and well appointed. Everything you could need is there. It is great to be able to walk to town rather than having to get in the car to go everywhere. We loved having morning coffee on the screened in porch and listening to the birds. We are already planning our next stay.
Walk out the door and turn right and you can walk a ¼ mile to the Deer Creek Tribute Trail, a lovely hike. Turn left out the door and you are an easy ½ mile walk from downtown Nevada City and all its restaurants and stores. I stayed for a week and walked everywhere, never moving my car.
The property is cute, clean and comfortable. The screened porch is a peaceful spot to unwind, though I was here at the wrong time of year to enjoy it properly. I hope to be back in the spring. Betsy is a wonderful host. She has obviously put a lot of thought into her guest’s needs.
I highly recommend this property.
The cottage was the perfect rental for our stay in Nevada City. The location was in a very quiet location with great hiking trails, close to Nevada City downtown and only 5 minutes from our family gathering. The hostess was very responsive to any questions we had. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed and very comfortable.
My daughter and i had a lovely time in the cottage we both enjoyed a peaceful time amongst the trees.Kitchen has everything you could need and more.Thank you Betsy
