About this property

Entire place

You'll have the entire cabin to yourself and will only share it with other guests in your party.

Romantic Creekside Privacy with Hot Tub

Tara is a romantic and elegant cabin on 30 private acres of woodland.

The luxurious one room cabin has wooden beam ceilings and floors, surrounded by windows with green tree-filled views and creek frontage. It boasts a fully equipped kitchen and everything needed to cook a gourmet meal. Down bedding with 100% cotton linens. French doors open onto multi-leveled decks (hot tub) overlooking the creek. It is THE place to relax and recharge in serene beauty and comfort.

The creek below the deck has private swimming holes, waterfalls, and large granite flat rocks for sunbathing. This is a “too good to be true” place to get away from it all.

Sit by the cozy wood stove in winter
Relax on the sunny deck in spring.
Float in private swimming holes in summer.

Enjoy the camp at Lover's Pool, with chairs, floats, chaise lounges, and an umbrella. Bring the picnic tote, a towel, reading material, and stay for hours in Heaven. This section of the creek is PRIVATE for cabin guests only. (Path to creek is steep in spots). A second swimming hole is more easily accessible.

Visit historic Nevada City (10 minute drive). Dine, shop, hike and explore the area. Or just enjoy a slow and peaceful day at the cabin, lying in the sun, sitting near and floating in the creek, reading or napping on chaise lounges. Evenings and sunsets are sweet in the fading light of the day - while enjoying a glass of wine on the deck or soaking in the hot tub.

The separate Buddha Hut building sleeps 1 or 2 in a Queen Bed. Located across the parking area, and just opposite the cabin, it is light and airy, a perfect, small sweet spot for extra friends. Guests may use the compost toilet and sink located in Buddha Hut overnight, and use the cabin bathroom for general use. (Buddha Hut is only rented in conjunction with the cabin for $100/night, $45/cleaning fee)

Sierra Nevada mountains, LakeTahoe, Donner Lake and the historic town of Truckee are a delightful hour away.

An outdoor motion-activated Security Camera is mounted on a PG&E pole adjacent to the driveway. (It monitors only the road and cabin driveway. Not the cabin itself)

Wonderful as promised
This was a great place to relax, and get away from it all. We loved the secluded property and private creek access. We spent our anniversary here and it was perfect. Alas our trip was too short.

Perfect reboot
Everything about this stay and place is perfect. We wanted some time to rest, relax, unplug, but be in nature and have access to hiking. We had the best time. Perfect little secluded spot to think, read, rest, and meditate. I highly recommend!!

Serenity
One of the best we’ve ever stayed at! Pictures and description of the cabin are accurate to what you’ll see. Our trip was 3 nights, and we didn’t leave the property at all. Truly secluded and private but so much you can do there. Gazing at the unobstructed views and creek. Sitting in the hot tub, walking the trails, exploring the outdoors, BBQing, yoga on the deck, and just taking in the peace. We had some rain but staying indoors was relaxing because there’s a firewood stove and windows all around, so you’re still immersed in the trees. The cabin was clean, had plenty of kitchen supplies, and we loved the bathroom amenities. I took advantage of taking a hot epson salt bath in the large bathtub and starred out into the forest. They truly thought of everything. We were surprised by the extra things they had available, those things we sometimes forget or just things to make the trip at ease. You’ll see once you experience the cabin for yourself.

Living in nature
My husband and I fell in love with this place. As soon as I stepped out on to the deck I cried due to the sheer beauty and remoteness. It was our escape from the world and news and awful things people do to one another. We felt like we had a spiritual retreat. The creek was wild and pure. We didn’t leave the cabin other than the first night to get groceries. Then we reveled in the natural beauty and solitude. The cabin had everything we needed to cook full meals. We loved the hot tub under the twinkling sky. You sure can see a lot more stars here. Everything about the cabin was comfortable. We can’t wait to return.

Very secluded!
Pro: The seclusion was amazing - views of the trees from big windows, sound of the rushing creek when sitting outside, very little extraneous noise. The cabin itself is so cute and super clean. Very well appointed kitchen. Comfy bed, lots of hot water, just lovely. Con: Hot Tub noise (we left more tired than when we came due to the constant on/off of the hot tub - hardly any sleep). The owner's instructions require you to never turn off the hot tub. And, we couldn't open the windows by the bed due to the heater exhaust being under the window. Owner's instructions require you to not open the window if heater is on. We couldn't use the woodstove because it wasn't the season - but we used it anyway the second night so we could try and drown out the hot tub noise with the lovely creek sound. Our conclusion was that the ideal time to come is the warmer months when you don't need the heat and the hot tub wouldn't constantly come on to overcome the cold of the night.
