"A great location for this hotel with lovely views from the rooms. The food is excellent, both the dinners and the cooked breakfasts, and staff are friendly and helpful. Just a few tweaks would make things even better: 1. The music in the restaurant and, especially the bar, is too loud and intrusive 2. The pastries at breakfast were stale 3. In both our rooms a handyman was needed as the grab rails in both bathrooms were coming away from the wall and there were parts missing from the shower controls 4. The spa massage treatment was great but changing room facilities weren't so good with inadequate locker space and little room to change. Apart from those minor reservations we would be very happy to return!"

"Fantastic location, beautiful B&B, wonderful host. The room was cozy, quiet, and comfortable with a nice lounge area to watch television or work with comfortable seating, windows, and a dining area. Breakfast was outstanding! Great choice of cereals, yoghurt, fruit, and a cooked breakfast to die for... so tasty! Highly recommend this B&B if you’re working, visiting or on holiday in the Kilmarnock, Ayr, Tarbolton, Auckland, and Cummnock area as it’s central to all these locations. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

Chestnut Cottage - One bedroom newly refurbished cottage in Dalmellington

"We loved this place. Even though it was late May, we just missed the heatwave - always seems to happen that way. When we arrived we felt a little chilly, but the heating soon made things feel cosy and more homely. The cottage is tastefully and attractively decorated and kitted out really well with a wealth of high quality kitchen items, and even thoughtfully selected books. There’s a cafetière, a lovely glass tea pot with an infuser (for leaf tea or tea bags), Habitat crockery and heavy cutlery I enjoyed using. Nothing feels as though it’s cast offs deemed good enough for a holiday let. There’s a breakfast bar and desk as well as a comfy L-shaped settee, and the lounge lights have dimmer switches.. Take your own wood if you want to make a few log fires, and maybe a lighter too (I’m sure there are things there that we didn’t find in our two night stay). The long, deep bath and plentiful hot water were perfect for a long soak at the end of the day. Contact with the hosts was all automated and it worked very smoothly. Thank you very much for a lovely stay. We’ll be back."

"Trelaw is a gorgeous cottage in a very peaceful spot. There are amazing views and wildlife on the doorstep. We saw house martins, hares and a baby deer from the living room window. The cottage has everything you need and Adele left us some lovely treats. We enjoyed the hot tub and would have used the many other outside features but the weather was not on our side.We used the cottage as a base to explore the area and we visited Dumfries House, Culzean Castle, Arran and Glasgow. The location is perfect for a taste of city life, the coast and the countryside. There is something for everyone in this beautiful part of Scotland. This cottage is perfect for those who want to relax in the countryside and donâ€™t mind driving to get to places. There arenâ€™t really local amenities within walking distance, though there are local shops, cafes and takeaways a short drive away. It suited us perfectly and we would love to return."

"We had a fantastic short break at Muirston. The cottage was lovely and really big and it was well equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was great and the views from every window in the cottage is absolutely stunning! The owners left us a elxokr hamper which was a nice touch. We will definitely return."
