There is a very ordinary motorway service station off the M6 here at Killington Lake. But in nice weather it is worth a stop. Grab a coffee and sit outside in the sun. The view certainly eases the strain of motorway driving. #GreatOutdoors

Underwhelming. This is a very ordinary hotel, despite the hot tubs, pool and spa. The decor is vile, all dull browns with turquoise. In the “Troutbeck” room there is a nasty trip hazard into the bathroom. A stubbed toe was annoying but a cracked skull would have been more so. Tip: if it’s not fixed ...
