LOCAL LIVING LOFT

This new property is a great place to stay in The Big Easy! Located near Esplande Ave. and Royal St. It is centrally located and walking distance to all of the action yet far enough from all the noise of Bourbon St!! This property is updated with granite and stainless in the kitchen. Beautiful wood floors throughout the condo! There is one queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa bed in living room. Enough to accommodate 4 people, however if you have an extra tag along we can provide an air mattress with some notice. Enjoy the balcony in the back and listen to the music of New Orleans streets!! The kitchen is fully stocked, but who really wants to eat in when you are in the Big Easy!!?? Ask about parking!

WE OFFER A GATED PARKING SPOT FOR $30/day
THERE IS NO ELEVATOR QUIET HRS 11PM-9AM

It was a relaxing stay. Spacious and with a balcony view. Some water leakage issues and lack of kitchen cleaning and cooking material, but overall doable.

The property was perfect, however the best part of this was the property owner. This person cares about her guest. The owner checked on us multiple time to insure that everything was going ok. Can't wait to stay at their property again.

Apartment was just as advertised! Quick (maybe 5 min) walk to Frenchman Street. Just down the block from Coop's, which has some of the best food in NO. Despite close proximity to music and food, spot is very quiet; and only 4 other apartments in the building. Mary was a great and very responsive host!

The apartment was cozy and quiet while still walking distance to everything! The place was clean and nicely decorated. The pull out couch is probably one of the more uncomfortable places I’ve ever sleep but with enough booze you won’t ever notice! I’d definitely stay here again and recommend it as well! It’s right above a popular coffee shop that’s perfect for a quick breakfast. Mary is also super responsive and helpful. Thanks for a great time!

While it is tastefully decorated, there are some things you must know about this unit. The owner is usually unreachable – and at first we were directed to a completely different Bienville location – If you are instructed to pick up a key at 508-D Barracks Street, understand that this is your unit. The building requires a code to get in. It is secure and safe. The apartment is basic and uncluttered. Do not rent this unit if you do not like to walk up three flights of steep stairs (40 steps) with luggage. There is no elevator, and the steps are oppressive. Once you get inside, you are not finished with steps. There is a narrow 15-step spiral staircase to the bedroom. This is also where the only closet is, so if your shirts or dresses are hanging, it’s your only option. You will be hauling your luggage up these narrow steps. When we arrived, it was raining. The roof leaks in the small alcove outside the bathroom. The water was puddling on the floor. There is a bed and drawer space in the bedroom – but no bathroom. The bathroom is down the spiral staircase in the main part of the unit. If you use the bathroom in the middle of the night, you must carefully go down that metal spiral staircase in the dark. Heat also rises, and there are no windows in the bedroom, so not only is it dark – it can be very hot as well. The bedroom closet has an iron, ironing board, extra linens and blankets. The double/queen-sized bed has a comfortable firm mattress and lots of pillows. It would be helpful if the owner would assemble a booklet with instructions. The TV is located in the main sitting area, but it is very complicated – there were five remotes sitting on a table with no clue about what they were used for. When we figured it out, there was Direct TV with hundreds of channels. The wifi instructions in the email were wrong. While there were plenty of towels and washcloths, we had to search for them. No hair dryer. The kitchen has several sized pots and enough cutlery and knives. But no coffee mugs, only 3 plates and no serving/mixing bowls or a measuring cup. There is a large Keurig, and a small 10-cup electric coffee maker however, the glass carafe for the coffee maker was missing. Luckily, we brought our own coffee maker, so we brought it in from our trunk.

I would like to start by saying my partner and I had a wonderful time in New Orleans, none of which was because of where we stayed. We originally booked our trip for May of 2020 but decided it would be in our best interest to reschedule due to the pandemic. My partner and I were both affected and had reduced incomes due to the pandemic. When we tried to get our trip refunded the owner told us that it was not an option, so we decided to go for a weekend in November. I set my GPS with the address provided and ended up at a complex about a block from Bourbon street just like I was expecting. I went inside the building and was greeted with signs that said “no short term rentals. Violators will be asked to leave.” This was concerning and I wondered if I was in the right place. I went to look at the messages from the property manager to see if I missed something. I looked at the check in instructions which included a completely different address than the one initially provided. The real address was on the opposite side of the French quarter about 15 minutes away. I assume this is because the property manager wanted the listing to look like it was in a prime location when it is actually on the outskirts of the quarter. The location was fine, but the fact that this property manager is lying about where to property is located is not okay. Also, the fact that the initial address she listed was somewhere that does not allow short term rentals is extremely concerning considering my partner and I were walking around this building clearly looking like out of towners with our luggage in tow. Once we finally found the actual apartment almost an hour and half later, and after missing our dinner reservations, we finally got settled. The main door doesn’t have a dead bolt and the porch doors don’t have any locks except for a hinge lock which could have easily been opened from the outside. The apartment was adorable, but not the safest. We also had a major problem with sugar ants. By the last day we had a huge ant trail in the apartment that was coming from the porch to the trash and all over our leftovers we had thrown away. When I got home and started unpacking there were still ants in my suitcase and in our car. I’m shocked this property has so many positive reviews. The manager is trying to scam people by listing her property in a prime location and then sending a different address at the last minute. I can’t wait to revisit New Orleans and stay elsewhere.

The property was the perfect New Orleans apartment. Small, quaint, old but updated. I loved the old brick and the high ceilings.

Nice property, which mirrored the photos on the listing. Parking was great if you’re able to catch parking right outside the apartment, if not you’ll have to find a parking garage. Location is perfect for literally everything. If you’re trying to cook on the stove it’s a pretty small stove but it works nonetheless. I enjoyed the place.

Really enjoyed the apartment. Gorgeous exposed brick, plenty of amenities, loved the patio. The wifi was very slow & the location was a little scary. Overall, enjoyed our stay!

The apartment is adorable and has perfect New Orleans feel! Me and my husband enjoyed our stay there and it’s walking distance to many places we want to go in French quarter. I highly recommend it. And the property manager is very responsive to our texts.

We especially loved having a coffee shop just downstairs and a porch out back. Note that the property is not at the address shown in the listing. That’s the office. This apartment is near the corner of Barracks and Decatur.

10/10

we've stayed here two times during spring break in march and have loved it. it is an easy walk to anywhere in the french quarter.

Great location in a quieter part of the French Quarter. Made catching Ubers much easier. Clean apartment with everything you could need. Would stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment. Note three flights of stairs to apartment.

Everything was exactly as promised. I am 75 years old and I walked to everything in the Quarter and beyond, with ease. You are minutes from everything! The apartment was cozy, well furnished and had anything you needed or expected. The bed was the best ever, and the balcony was our second living room. Our expectations, our anticipations were met on every level. Others had exclaimed about Mary’s helpfulness. Well they were right. We never had any problem while there so didn’t get to meet Mary in person, but next year will find us here again. We named the apartment “ THE NEST”

We had a lovely Thanksgiving holiday enjoyed our stay right in French Quarter. Nice loft arrangement, loved the balcony for extra space, kitchen basic but we got a Thanksgiving meal cooked (for the most part)! So much nicer than being crowded in a hotel room.

10/10

We absolutely loved staying at this apartment! The location, close to Frenchmen, Decatur, Royal and Bourbon Streets was perfect. Even Café du Monde was within walking distance to end our day in a typical touristy way. Once we entered the door to the apartments, the noise of the city was gone. It was a nice quiet respite from all the noise that’s part of NOLA’s charm. Mary, the property manager, was very responsive when we had a small issue. She responded quickly to our questions. Be aware that there are stairs. We’re retired and are long past our 20s, but the stairs weren’t a problem. Just realize that there are several flights. We love this city and come here often. This has been our favorite VRBO stay. We will definitely try to book here again. I will say though that it crossed my mind in leaving such an honest review may make this location more difficult to book! It’s a winner!

This property is absolutely beautiful and historic, I felt like I really stayed in New Orleans, not just a commercial place. So much character here and the location can’t be beat. Walking distance to so many things, restaurants, shops and landmarks. I would definitely stay here again and I highly recommend it to anyone.
