I picked this property bc it was a short walking distance from Penn station and had a subway station a corner away. I knew heading in that it wasn’t the best area of town…I would describe it as a little gritty. Having lived in a city, I wasn’t fazed by it. Yes, there were a fair number of homeless people but I never felt unsafe (even as a female traveling with my teenaged daughter). It’s a crowded area however with a lot of tourist that are trying to get oriented, me being one of them. The staff at the hotel were very nice and we were always greeted upon reentering. I didn’t need their services other than to hold our bags, but I wouldn’t have hesitated to ask them for advice. They were friendly and personable. The room was small but fine for two people. Bathroom was very nice. I was happy with my decision to stay there and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

On the website it was written that there was parking, there is no access to park the car in front of the hotel to get down with your bags, you have to park on the side street and walk with your bags, terrible! the price of parking is very expensive!

The staff is excellent. Very courteous and helpful. Checked us in a few minutes early, let us check out a few minutes late, no problem. The view on the rooftop is excellent. I should’ve skipped Top of the Rock and spent more time at the bar. Noisy on the 8th Ave side of building and some questionable characters hanging around but not the hotel’s fault, it’s part of NYC’s charm.

Very clean! Extremely pleased with housekeeping. Friendly staff day or night. Would recommend to family & friends. I would absolutely stay here again. Felt safe day or night in area. A couple quick bites really close! Rooftop bar is a plus & complimentary happy hour is a plus !
