Loved staying here. Know that you’re in basically an ApartHotel but the rooms are lovely, the staff great when you need something or have an issue. And you’re close to some of the best restaurants in Manhattan!

I didn’t check out the gym, but the surrounding options had plenty of food and shopping and entertainment. Probably something better for people who like higher energy areas with a night life.

THEY ARE THE BEST!!! Our last night, my friend and I went out and got back to the hotel at 8am, and our KIND front desk knew our checkout was in a few hours, and he extended our check out till 2PM so we can get some sleep before our flight at 5pm. HE WAS A BLESSING!!!! Such an amazing stay. PRIME LOCATION. You can walk to 10X bars just from our hotel. And of course, the hotel is soooooo cute. Will definitely book here again.

The hotel is well situated for subway access, dining and entertainment. We spent four nights, travelling mostly around Manhattan and Brooklyn. Other than some plumbing issues with our bathroom sink, our room was very spacious and comfortable, with exceptional city views.

Great Stay

We had an excellent stay at Sonder the Merchant. It's brand new with beautiful gold fixtures in the bathroom, and we especially loved the location in the Lower East Side. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next NYC trip.

The roof top party set up @ 2:00am was tough to handle, overnight party on Friday & Saturday night were bearable as staff brought noise cancelation device to use as we were located in 1505 - right below the party roof deck. Front desk staff extremely kind and condiserate.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sonder The Merchant! The hotel was fresh, clean, and beautifully designed. The location is perfect. It’s located on a cozy, quiet (but full with character) street in the Lower East Side, with great restaurants and shops nearby. We had a room on the 10th floor with amazing view over Manhattan. Service was also excellent — friendly and responsive. Highly recommend and would definitely stay again!

Fantastic hotel in vibrant neighborhood

The Sonder is a beautifully designed hotel, nestled into one of the coolest neighborhoods of Manhattan.Upon entering the lobby, there is a small cafe with excellent coffee and pastries. Our room was located on the 5th floor and much more spacious than the average hotel room in NY, and equipped with a nespresso machine and electric kettle which was appreciated. The best part though were our beds which were heavenly. From the comforter to the mattress it was pure bliss. Thank you for such a wonderful stay. We are already looking forward to be coming back.

We had a mostly great stay at this hotel. The decor was beautiful, and the staff went above and beyond to make my husband’s birthday feel special, which we really appreciated. The bed was huge and very comfortable, and the balcony view of the city was stunning. That said, we could hear everything from the neighbouring rooms, and there were a few housekeeping issues — a dirty rag was left in the room, we weren’t given any soap, and someone entered despite the “Do Not Disturb” sign. Small things, but attention to detail matters. Overall, a stylish and comfortable stay with thoughtful service — just a few things that could be improved.

The room was big and the bed was comfy! The coffee shop in the lobby was great - a great place to work. And the rooftop bar was cute. I like the area! However, we asked them to clean our room every day and they only did the last day. Getting more towels took forever. the hot water went out right when I needed to shower before an event. The gym was INSANELY hot like unbearable.
