"Donna and Keith are the most perfect hosts you could experience. The grounds and rooms were beautiful and immaculate. The house is right on the lake allowing you to have a swim with towels generously provided along with lovely Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Our hosts were always helpful and accommodating. Everything was beyond perfect!! Don’t get me started about the breakfast. It was unbelievable!! Way beyond my expectations. Crepes, omelettes, fresh granola, scones… all freshly prepared and delicious. Donna and Keith encouraged their guests to introduce themselves to one another which helped break the ice and create lively conversation. These people are pros and it shows! Thank you again for your hospitality! We had a wonderful time!"

Relax on Benson Lake, Rideau System

"The hosts are exceptionally friendly and responsive! They were so helpful and kind. We felt lucky to get to experience what Benson Lake and the Rideau Lakes have to offer. If you’re looking for a rustic, charming, relaxing and disconnected retreat this is the perfect spot!!! The views are breath taking. The lake is quiet and warm. The cottages are cozy. We loved it. We will definitely be back!"

"Everything was really good. The hot tub was not working was was sad as I really could have used it on the last day after a long hike and swim in the lake. I would recommend the peaceful location."

"Free parking included with the stay, clean rooms, staff are friendly on site. Air conditioning in rooms. I would recommend cleaning the interior of the AC as the one in our room had a bit of a smell to it. It was manageable and other than that we had no problems at all. It was easy for a one night stay and everything was tidy and clean. No issues, very affordable compared to other stays"

"The staff here are wonderful and always helpful. The property itself is older, so while they are working on updating and maintaining, a lot of it is dated or needing minor repair. For example, there used to be a swimming pool but the previous owner filled it with dirt. The room we were in has a great view of the river and a patio that opens right in front of the dock, which was lovely. However, the room itself was dated and needed a deep clean and the plumbing was obviously old. The beds were comfortable and the food was fantastic, especially the Sunday brunch, which is very popular. You can tell that everyone there cares about taking care of their guests and the main building shows their hard work in cleaning up and updating the property. The convenient access to the park and waterways is another plus."

"The sheer beauty of the site cannot be done justice by the photos!! The whole experience was way more than we expected or could have imagined for our weekend getaway. I can’t say enough about Wendy, her hospitality and generosity. Fast check-in with a comprehensive tour of the property and all of the many amenities. Having a shower in the fresh air with the sun on my head while still completely private was a luxury I will not soon forget. The wonderful fire pit overlooking the lake at sunset followed by cuddling down in the super soft sweet smelling sheets and pulling the down duvet to block the light chill of night was the crowning glory. I closed my eyes looking onto the moonlit lake and opened them to the save view glistening in the morning sun. So serene and amazing. We are planning a return trip in early autumn and I can’t wait!!"
