Excellent service all around. Lots of things to keep the children busy in the lodge grounds. Breakfast was a little disappointing, clean and tidy rooms. Recommend the helicopter rides.
Check in was smooth. When i discovered that I was given a smoking room, they quickly changed my room to a non smoking room. I am at the included breakfast as I write this, wow what a spread! Incredible selection and excellent quality as well as 5 star service.
We enjoyed our stay but they got our booking wrong and there was a double bed instead of 2 x singles, they then moved us to another room advising that it had 2 x single beds only for this room to also have a double bed. Overall, a pleasant and peaceful location but front desk receptionist needs some training on what the different rooms contain.
We made a mistake booking here. From check in it didn't go well, the receptionist took us to our room, where the cleaner was just finishing and let us in. It was only a little while later when we went to go out that we realised that we'd not been given a room key! That's the basic thing of checking into a hotel I feel?
The room itself was chalet style but quite small, there was evidence of damp in both the bedroom and bathroom and in fact one of our bags and it's contents got damp as we left it by the wall!
On our 2nd day with the sun out brightly, we thought we'd lay by the pool for a few hours....nope, the first time we'd ever stayed in a hotel that has a pool but absolutely zero sun loungers! We even asked at reception just incase they'd stored them away but were told bluntly that they don't have any sun loungers!
The pool itself had seen better days, like the "resort", everything is tatty.
There's a lot of game on the extensive grounds but the walks are not well signposted at all.
Overall we couldn't wait to leave.
It was just one of their busiest times and they were hosting a wedding. So the priority of the service was specifically for the wedding guests.
No pre- check in confirmations or follow-ups and information sharing were done, we had to call in order to get their attension.
We couldn't get food ordered for the first night, the response on whatsapp took more than 90 minutes and we were given a short notice of the time at which the kitchen closes. When we placed the order, no response was received until it was too late to get food.
Bedding was not changed, guess locations differ with linen change policy.
But we managed to get the food ordered and delivered on the second night.
The setting is beautiful but the bathroom was disgusting.
The ceiling and walls had black mould on them, the shower tiles near the floor were thick with dirt and the shower rose was broken. The beds are not very comfortable.
