Newcastle is only a few stops on the metro, home to the famous quayside and Tyne Bridge, steeped in history with a multitude of shops, bars, galleries and theatres, where you will be sure of a real warm ’Geordie welcome. Travel a few miles up the Northumberland coast peppered with castles and little villages or go west over to Hadrian’s Wall and discover a roman fort.
