You are just a short bus ride to Amsterdam (nothing compares with the ease of the Dutch transit system), yet you are right on a canal with a gorgeous view of farmland and a long, long view to the horizon. The town itself, Broek in Waterland, is one of the sweetest in all of Holland and has two excellent restaurants. "We enjoyed our stay. We have stayed in the city before but this time planned to visit the tulip fields and the Keukenhof gardens and it was an easy 15/20 minute drive. The location is quiet and tranquil. You hear all the animals playing and talking and we even got a visit from a group of ducks. If you wish to go into the city it's at least 30 minutes but also an easy drive. There is no TV which as weird at first but it worked out just fine!"
