"Very comfortable extra large bed. It was a bit challenging to get the air conditioning to get a steady temperature so needed to adjust frequently. The lunch buffet was just okay and overpriced. But there are LOTS of food options and a supermarket just 2 minutes away. The hotel is literally just a few minutes from the train station. Our corner room was on the opposite side from the station and was really quiet."

"My spouse and I had a fantastic stay at Hotel Izukyu! I'm already planning to come back later in the summer. My Japanese is limited so we really appreciated the staff doing their best to explain policies in English. We stayed in a Japanese style room, it was huge and had everything we needed and more - and the view of the ocean was fantastic! We also took advantage of the private onsen, highly recommend. "Great place for families visiting Shimoda and Izu Peninsula. Definitely a hotel catering to Japanese tourists, but with a little Japanese and respect the staff is very friendly and works with you. Some of the staff spoke some English. Bathhouse, arcade, and hotel amenities were great. Walking distance to everything downtown and easy spot to drive to other locations. Would definitely stay here again with family on vacation. "
