This was challenged but the hotel continued to insist that it needed to be paid and that it was advised (despite it not being in the listing or the confirmation email). "Location was 5 minutes walking distance to public transportation, but overall a little far from the center of town for our purposes. Safe area to walk. Our bathroom flooded the first night, but they were able to move us to another room. No nightstand to charge phones etc. Tight space for two adults and two children even though its advertised as accommodating four people. Breakfast and breakfast staff were excellent!"

"Close to the Central Train station so good for traveling to and from the Netherlands. Not so close to downtown so need to take public transportation to get around."

"I will try to stay here when I return to Amsterdam. Great quality, especially for the price. I had a basic room, which was perfect for me. It was a break from multiple person hostel but it felt comparable in price to those. I really enjoyed the bar/restaurant on site. The area felt more relaxed than being right in the city but transportation was very convenient to get to those spots. They have local artists work displayed, which i really appreciate. There is a secret bunker with great AC and little hidden spots to discover within the building. The bed was nice, the shower was wonderful. Thr room got really dark and i was late for plans because i slept so deeply. No exterior windows but there are windows to the hallway which i thought was quirky and fit the vibe. The staff was low key. Helpful when needed. Very good vibes. There is a museum and cinema (the eye) within walking distance that is very cool. They have a beautiful view of the water without being overly congested with tourists. Highly recommend!"

"Room was on the 6th floor. Weren’t told the correct lift at first so got a little lost . Had to go back to reception and were given correct instructions to find the room. Exceptionally hot during stay but air con in room was excellent thankfully. Very good location - next to Central Station and close to centre. Dam Square 10-15 min walk, Ann Frank House 25 min walk. Security in hotel very good - bar area very pleasant and reasonably priced . Towels were’nt the best quality- very thin and not generous in size. A non slip mat to use in the shower would be useful as I nearly slipped a couple of times Communal areas could have been cleaner dirt on the stairs remained for the duration of my stay and used food containers left outside rooms for a couple of days. . Overall staff friendly and helpful - a good budget hotel at a decent price . Would use again for convenience ."
