Amanda is a very helpful and gracious host. The house is beautiful and fully stocked with everything you would need in a home away from home. The view is breathtaking and our families really enjoyed a very restful and peaceful stay.
Really clean, cozy place right on the pond. Quick drive to North Country Rivers which offers a bunch of activities all around the year. The house had all the necessary amenities we could have asked for over our weekend. Highly recommend, we will visit again soon.
This property was just what our family of 8 needed to have a wonderful lake vacation. From the kayaks, to spacious living room and outdoor patio and fire pit, to the air-conditioned rooms, and comfortable beds, it gave us plenty of opportunities to enjoy the lake while having time to relax and hang out together.
We were in the area skiing at Sugarloaf. The drive to Sugarloaf was very easy and the house was a relaxing, clean, peaceful place to come "home" to. Our whole family loved it. The host was very attentive and kind, as well. We met some neighbors while on a walk, and they couldn't have been nicer, too. GREAT HOUSE, GREAT HOST-highly recommend!
Our Family was looking for a place to stay near Bingham, ME. We found this place by chance, and it turned out to be the best weekend ever. It slept all of us comfortably and had all the comforts of home and then some. The view of Emden pond was amazing. Great place for anyone who likes to fish, hike, swim, boat, hunt, or just relax. The host was very helpful and responded promptly to any questions. I highly recommend this to any family looking for a great week or weekend away.
Combined a family wedding with fishing and kayaking on Embden Pond. House was sparkling clean and the new patio had plenty of seating. Enjoyed using the owner provided kayaks and appreciated the extra parking at public boat ramp. Owners provided ample supply of paper products and soaps for kitchen and bathrooms. Nice selection of Keurig coffee pods, too.
Very accurate description of property and amenities. Wonderful time at Embden Pond.!
I have a pet peeve - when you stay at a place and there are not enough facecloths. You stay at a place for 5 days - there are 4 of you - and there are 4 facecloths - i like to use a new one everyday. We could have stayed her a month - and I don't think we would have run out! Maybe a small thing - but just an example of how this place has it ALL.
One huge bummer - the weather decided to drop into the 40's and 50's and rain for most of our stay. The pond and nearby walks looked so inviting when we got in Friday night and it was almost 80. Saturday declined to 55 degrees and rained off and on - Sunday - 45 and pouring. Complete bummer - because the area is beautiful and we so looked forward to kayaking and biking.
Maybe next time . . .
My wife and I rented the house for me to Snowboard at Sugarloaf and my wife to relax.
The house is about 45 minutes from Sugarloaf - but that was known and of my choosing. It's fine unless you get stuck behind a snow plow.
The house was exactly as advertised, well equipped, and very comfortable. The master bedroom bed on the first floor was super comfy.
The house is also equipped with a backup generator, which was greatly appreciated as the house lost power for perhaps 6 hours due to heavy winds. The heat and the main portion of the house, including internet/TV, remained active. As it was cold out, being without heat for that period would have gotten chilly. Therefore, this was very appreciated.
Garage was also available for our use, which typically is not the case in most houses I rent for vacationing. Again, due to cold/snow, this was appreciated to be able to have the car in the garage. It was more than enough to fit a Ford Expedition comfortably to still be able to load/unload in the garage.
Overall, I would highly recommend the house. I'd imagine the lake/pond would be great in the warmer months as well.
This is the second time at this property. This time we enjoyed kayaking on the pristine pond, and evenings around the fire pit. The house layout was perfect for the 8 of us and everything you could ever need was provided, all we had to bring was the food. The home is beautifully decorated and comfortable.
We were there for a family vacation with our grandkids. We all enjoyed our stay. The house was beautiful and just as advertised, even better. We had everything we needed. The hosts checked in with us a couple of times during our stay to make sure everything was going well. They were very responsive. We can’t wait to go back again.
Exactly the location and features we wanted for an extended-family Maine lake vacation experience! The decor, amenities, and layout were a perfect fit for us, and the owner was especially responsive. My wife became a first time paddle boarder, and we explored the entire length of the lake afloat, while everyone enjoyed the nearby swimming beach and shallow cove daily. One of our fondest vacation experiences ever.
Clean. Awesome location. Great layout. Went up with friends and family to help do yardwork at another family-member's house for the weekend & needed a centralized place to stay. Mom's house was only a few miles away. Was great to come home at night to cook dinner & let the kids play outside. Lake is steps away (and yes they jumped in!!!). Luckily there was a dryer :) Walked the nearby trail with morning coffee. Would definitely go back. Host was very responsive. Easy check in & check out too. Thank you!!!
great place... fit our needs/wants to a "T"! Bedding arrangements were super for our group... 2 almost senior adults and 5 young adult children :)
We hope to return someday!!
We loved the property. It was exactly as described in the photos.
It was "home base" for our Kennebec rafting trip. The kids had a blast. It was fully stocked with everything we needed. I would certainly book this property again if we ever go back to that area.
We were hoping to get away with the kids for a couple of days for snowshowing and skiing. The house was lovely and communication with the homeowner was excellent throughout. Perfect location central to many of western Maine’s best attractions. Highly recommend.
We loved our weekend at Embden Pond! The house was clean and the downstairs appeared recently renovated. The location next to snowmobile trails was great for snowshoeing and I’d imagine the house would be great in the summer as it’s right by the public boat launch. The location is also about a 40 minute drive to Sugarloaf and other trails in the area. Amanda was very responsive and helpful. We highly recommend this place!
