"Rooms were clean and the bed was very comfy! The staff made the stay much more than expected. They became like family. They were very attentive and patient with us through the language variances. The chef Chickie was excellent and would alter the menu as requested. Anna the housekeeper went beyond to ensure things were cleaned. Moises and Gleni also were over the top in providing the utmost service. The property is not on the beach (they have a shuttle daily) but in a safe area. I would walk the streets as people were going to and coming from work. I will go back! "

"Very friendly staff. Very kid friendly. Beachfront is INCREDIBLE! Kids loved playing in the waves and watching the kite boarders. The hotel’s friendly cats along the paths were also a hit with all the guests. Room was clean but showing signs of wear and tear. Minor things like the phone didn’t work for 5 days, curtains barely moving. Lots of great restaurants to try only 5-10 minute walk along the beach into Cabarete. "

"I was fooled by the 9.2 review and chose this place, even though it is very old and dirty, and we spent about two nights in the heat with two kids due to a broken cooling system. The internet was very weak and limited, and it would frequently disconnect, causing me to miss my online meetings. More than 90% of the meals were the same every day during our week-long stay. There were no special activities except for one pool table for the entire resort. More than 90% of the staff were very kind, nice, respectful and welcoming. Our suite was changed three times, the first because of water coming from the ceiling, the second because of the cooling system and broken beds, etc. For those who are sensitive to cleanliness and very old building, who follow a variety of foods, and who don't want to get bored after a few days, I don't recommend it at all."

"I chose this hotel because it presents itself as a luxury resort, with rates around $400 per night. Unfortunately, the quality of the room and the overall condition of the property did not meet what would reasonably be expected at that price point. The main curtain in my room was covered in visible paint stains and remained that way throughout my stay. For a hotel positioning itself as luxury, this level of visible wear and lack of attention to detail is disappointing. Maintenance across the property also appeared neglected. There were dead trees in the pool area, which significantly impacted the atmosphere and gave the impression of poor upkeep. The gym was another major letdown. There was only one machine available, and it was broken during my stay, making the facility unusable. I had to travel about 10 minutes to an external gym to complete my workouts, which was inconvenient. Service was also very slow, and there were multiple mistakes made during my restaurant visits. The overall impression was a lack of attentiveness and care from the team, which further detracted from the experience. Overall, the stay did not reflect the luxury branding or justify the nightly rate charged."
