"We frequently choose older motels that cost less. We look closely at their photos, and if it looks updated and clean we choose it. Usually we find it is owned/managed by an immigrant family, frequently from the Subcontinent, and they do an excellent job with the older property. The Royal Inn in Hudson, Wis., is such a place. It was very clean, the air conditioning worked well on a hot day, parked right in front of our room. Convenient location."

"Nice place to stay. Nothing fancy, but it served it's purpose. Breakfast was good and staff was very friendly. My only complaint was that the carpet in our room was dirty! Our feet and the soles of our shoes were gray from the carpet in the room."
