"The beach was fantastic and thus swimming was really a pleasure. There are no changing rooms, so you need to use your own cabin. There was electricity in the very modest cabin of two persons, but quite a long way to go to the toilet (of one seat only) especially at night. It would have helped, if there were some sighns in the area indicated the localities. Anyway, it seemed as if there were only a few persons around, very quiet and hardky any life. Romantic Forest Cottage near Lake • Sauna, Firepit & Cozy Scandinavian Design

10/10 Excellent

"The cabin is really lovely, in a beautiful setting and very quiet. This place is ideal for some peaceful time in nature. Olga is a wonderful host, considerate and answered all my questions very promptly. There is a beautiful swimming spot just 15 mins walk (or 2 min drive) from the cabin, down Mökinrannantie. There is also a beautiful public swimming spot in Kesalahti at which is a 15 minutes drive - called Sortolampi Beach. All the public swim spots have convenient changing cabins. The shops in Kitee are around 30 mins drive have everything you might need - make sure you check out the Marimekko outlet shop!"

Original Sokos Hotel Vaakuna Joensuu

10/10 Excellent

"Conveniently located in the heart of town. I had requested an accessible room. The bathroom facilities for this room were excellent. Large walk in shower with handle bars. Nice breakfast although it was like a maze to get to the breakfast area. The Amarillo restaurant is conveniently located in the hotel."

Omena Hotel Joensuu

8/10 Good

"clean, small and simple. it was quite small but we only needed a room to shower and sleep so it worked out just fine. Only reason I gave it 4/5 is because it was quite cold in the room with no way to adjust the temperature. Also make sure to pack what you need as well they had one thing of soap for your entire body and that was all. "
