"The positive - spacious room with kitchenette and balcony with perfect ocean views.
The reception staff and cleaners were very friendly and polite and assisted when requested.
Hotel location close to multiple restaurants and over the road from the beach. 20min walk to Lemon Bay and further restaurants. Bus stop outside hotel for buses to Noumea.
Hotel arranged a shuttle pickup and drop off which was required as the airport was an hour away.
The negative - hotel was undergoing extensive renovations so we were awoken at 7:30 daily by drilling etc which continued through the day until evening.
The cleaning crew dragging their carts repeatedly outside the room door and 3 times in a week knocked on our door around 8am (we had a do not disturb sign which kept blowing off the handle).
The balcony was great but very close and overlapping with neighbours so cigarette smoke, noise and dragging furniture was regularly heard.
Majority of the negatives were avoidable and appreciated renovations are rare but emailing us prior to our trip should have been done as we had may have chosen to make alternative arrangements."
"If you are looking for a great location in the best area, at competitive prices, this is it. The hotel itself is a little tired and worn but the fantastic size of the suites and warmth of staff make up for it. The housekeeping team where amazing 🙏"
"The room was a nice size, clean and a good base for 4 days in Noumea. The location was out of the city area in more of an industrial area so you will need a car. There was a good amount of parking on site and across the road. There a s good supermarket only a few minutes walk.
The main aspect to note is that while the Hotels.com and on the hotel website seem to indicate washing facilities within in the room - these are a NOT free. The writing on both websites are misleading. The cost to use the washer and dryer located in the bathroom were at an additional cost per day.
Yes there is a kitchen, but it is the bare minimum equipment in terms of being useful. There is not even a sharp knife."
"Very enjoyable experience staying at the Gondwana Hotel in Noumea. The staff were excellent; friendly, welcoming and helpful. The morning breakfast was enjoyable and the location provided an excellent base from which to explore this lovely part of New Caledonia."
"Liked being away from the city and close to the Mangroves walk.
Loved the little shop so a night in with snacks and meals was easy.
Very helpful staff even if little English was spoken, we managed :-)"
"Un hotel muy bonito, como un encantador oasis dentro de una ciudad turística. Con mucho encanto, personal local súper amable, limpieza y buenos servicios.
La relacion calidad precio es increible.
Volvería sin ninguna duda. Un auténtico placer."

"I am not a fan of Hotels; I prefer a less formal and more naturel environment. This lodge was perfect for me. The hosts, Nicole and Richard, are lovely people and I shall never forget them. There is no radio or TV at the lodge, but they have Wi-fi, so I was able to access those services on the rare occasions that I felt inclined to do so. During the eight days that I spent there, I discovered how to relax, how to enjoy the simple pleasures and how to say, "Bonjour!" and truly mean it! I've been back in Australia now for six days and I feel homesick for New Caledonia, Noumea, the Lodge and my lovely hosts."
"Wonderful sea view from the apartment. Balcony was a lovely place to be first thing in the morning & also in the evening to watch sunset.
Just a quick walk to Anse Vata beach for amazing swimming with lifeguards on duty. Very convenient to head out to duck or master islands for the day( just pop across the road)
Well equipped kitchen with full size fridge/ freezer which made it so convenient."
