Overall enjoyed my stay at the occidental! Had some amazing staff members like Julio L & Milton G, they went above and beyond, always friendly! Most of the staff are friendly but they really stood out to us! There were always lots of outdoor entertainment going on, drinks & food were good! We especially loved the Tokyo restaurant and HIGHLY recommend booking a reservation for hibachi there as well as it was DELICIOUS and so fun! The cons we experienced: The front desk staff could use some work, found them very standoff/rude, less friendly, and definitely did not go above and beyond to make our stay memorable or comfortable. We actually felt very uncomfortable out last day there with the front desk staff. Aswell and the bathrooms could use some attention, the small glass pane was barley holding on and almost fell down multiple times, and we also had to jimmy rig one of our shower hearts to make sure it wasn’t spraying Willy Billy Hopefully the front desk staff can learn some new customer service skills and the resort would be much better off! Overall a decent resort for price, it is a smaller resort, probably great for a low key family vacation. Not too much for kids activities on site, also not much for nightlife so it is pretty quiet, which made it relaxing

We had a great holiday! The one thing that I would note is that all the resorts furniture in lobby, lobby bet snd pool area. I was also disappointed with Expedia regarding the transportation to and from hotel which could have been included as I booked with that included.

This is a difficult review to write. Our room was nice, simple but clean. The food was what you’d expect from an all inclusive style resort. The staff we interacted with on a day to day basis was tremendous. Milton from the activities and Julio Caesar who served drinks were both FABULOUS.They should be running the place!! Friendly, took time to remember us and learn about us. Howeve, the staff at the concierge was TERRIBLE. I will not try the to the resort solely because of their treatment. Upon arrival the man who greeted up was rude and short. He rolled his eyes and had rude remarks for every question we asked. Despite contacting the resort beforehand to have our rooms together, he would not put us together and told us there was no record (even after we showed him the emails). Upon check out we were told we had to leave immediately, even though our flight didn’t fly out for 7 hours. We could pay $90 USD for 3 extra hours. There was no where to put our bags, it was a horrible experience and lousy way to end the trip. One woman from The converse he continued to watch us as we sat on the front steps, even taking photos of us that she appeared to be sending to her security team.

Staff is friendly, but I will never step foot in this place again. Do NOT come here if you’re looking for a relaxing time, as there is music blasting at the pool at all hours (the pools also close at 7:30 like what!!) and performances and music going every night until 12am. The food is poor to average, at best. Think of Sodexo dining hall food at college. Even the “fancy” restaurants are gross and left my husband and I violently ill. The food just down the street at La Isla was PHENOMENAL!! If you think you’ll find accurate information on the website or with the front desk, you’d be wrong. Everyone told us different things. Oh and when you ask for a late check out, I hope you don’t think you get access to your room. I was left in my swimsuit with no access to a shower before we left.
