Carpenter-built 1965 house in the forest on Alrø

A carpenter built this house in 1965 for himself and his wife. The original toolbox is still in the house. Inside, the ceilings are high and there’s plenty of space to relax—you’re stepping into a home with a genuine history behind it.

In the area, Café Alrø is a must-visit—featured on “Beard Meets Food.” Be sure to book a table well in advance. You can also visit the distillery in Amstrup, buy vegetables and pottery at the roadside stand on Alrøvej, go for hikes, swim by the dam, or take the bike ferry to Hjarnø.
