"Delicious breakfast every morning and no complaints there. We found no shops closeby but there are some within walking distance. It was nice to have a balcony to face the ocean. The only kitchen amenities were a hot water kettle and cups for instant coffee or tea and a small fridge. The blonde lady who arranges the breakfast is wonderful and very helpful. The desk staff were helpful when we lost all hot water to the room and had to have it looked after. The water in our room was tepid for a day of our stay. They didn't have the ham or mushrooms for the pizza we ordered. We weren't very impressed with the menu choices for evening meals as some items were unavailable. It would have been nice to have a TV in the living room area as thats where we sit to watch TV. "

"Rather dated holiday camp type establishment. Location on waterfront midway between Lisbon and Estoril. Train station and shops nearby. Breakfast was OK. Room OK. Service a bit indifferent. Late check in, not until 4pm."

"Always like Holiday Inns as the breakfast sets us up for a good day! New carpet and although the room size was a bit tight for four of us, the bath made up for it! Out of Lisbon and only 30 minutes from Sintra = perfect. Would stay again"

"We stayed for 9 nights. The first impression was as we expected of a 5 star luxury hotel. The conseirge/luggage carrying guy was fantastic - a really nice welcoming. Couldn't remember his name - it was the same first name as the general manager I think he'd said. The room was very comfortable, clean and really spacious with a massive bed. We had a view of the pool and the gardens. I like the old part of the building with all its character and private chapel. The new part is kind of bolted on which is novel but kind of works. The new part has maybe a corporate feel? I don't know, couldn't quite pick up on the vibe. Strangely it seemed pretty quiet in the hotel, not many guests? Perhaps in peak season theres a bit more atmosphere with people using the pool side bar. But having it quiet was quite nice, we felt we had the hotel to ourselves in a way. Location is good - areas are easily accessible by taxi or train - Lisbon, Cascais, Sintra etc. Breakfast room - a lot of attentive staff. Plenty of fresh and good quality breakfast options to keep you going. It would have been nice to have had an initial greeting and introduction - timings, what you can drinks you can ask for etc. You can order a 'pack up' if you're out and about and miss breakfast. I have a couple of negatives. We needed an information booklet in the room.. Is it that we're expected to find everything on our phones nowadays? Also..drinking water providers would have been handy - dotted around the hotel."

"The hotel’s location was convenient, and the reception area was well designed and welcoming. However, the overall service did not meet expectations. The room was quite small and lacked basic amenities such as a refrigerator and an iron. Upon entering, there was a noticeable musty odor, and the bathroom ceiling showed visible black mold. The room also felt excessively humid, which made it uncomfortable to breathe, requiring the window to remain open for ventilation. The bed sheets were not clean, nor were the towels. I don’t think they have been washed. I stayed for only two nights and found a different hotel."
