The one major plus was the location. Ohiopyle Suites was within walking distance of almost every attraction. Other than that, it was adequate. The bed was comfortable, the rooms were small, the bath was crowded but served the purpose, the breakfast was a fridge full of packaged/frozen items. The morning coffee was fresh and good, though. What you get for the high price is the location.

The Ohiopyle State Park is a hidden gem in rural Pa. This hotel is the only one around and sits directly off the rail-trail there. There may be some privately owned properties you can rent, but this place can't compare for its location and ease of checking in. No hidden fees. And the grab-and-go breakfast is an unexpected treat, as it was nicely provisioned with a wide variety of items available. Walking distance to restaurants, coffee shops a small grocery make this place great.

The place is conveniently located. We could walk to everything. It was easy to ark in the parking lot. The free breakfast was great. Loved the kitchen area. The bed was comfy and the bathroom was supplied with all amenities.

Pluses1) Great location. Walking distance to Ohiopyle State Park offices and the town 2) The room is very cute. 3) the grab and go breakfast was very adequate. 3) directly across from a tiny little church that we attended on Sunday & everyone was so sweet. 4) cute front porch with some limited seating. 5) very clean Downsides: 1) the mattresses and pillows are horribly uncomfortable. One mattress actually had a deep groove in it so you were either stuck in the valley or had to climb up a hill to change positions in the bed all night long. 2) there is no one to even ask for extra pillows 3) the WiFi is horrible and goes in & out constantly. 4) there is one tiny light dim in the entire main body of the room, so you can’t see in the main body of the room if you wish to do anything that requires vision except watch TV unless you have brought your own supplemental lighting. I like to hike all day and do needlework in my room at night … but you can’t actually see. 5) there are no drawers for your possessions nor is there a luggage rack to sit your suitcase on which means living your suitcase on & off the floor constantly. For 2 nights it was ok, but I’m not sure I’d stay again since neither of us got a good nights sleep since the mattresses and pillows were so hideous.

Great location and a well-maintained property. One thing to know before you arrive: there is no cell phone service in the area. Management recommends printing your check-in instructions ahead of time, and I’d strongly suggest doing so—at the very least, make sure you have the Wi-Fi password handy. Overall, a great stay, and I would definitely stay here again.

Sooo…Hard to calibrate expectations on value as the only room I could get was the “condo” with extra bedroom, etc. Not a normal stay for me and I don’t have other experiences to compare it to. It certainly is convenient to the GAP trail, and beautiful setting and Ohiopyle is an awesome little community. So the negatives-The property itself was passably clean; however there was food in the refrigerator from the last customers and I couldn’t get the shower to turn on (the pulldown on spout apparently stuck). I needed to get redressed and go to the office to get help; but they were responsive and fast. (Required a pair of channel lock pliers to free up the pulldown diverter- not sure how does this go undiscovered?). And I dont recall if it is on website but there was no soap or shampoo; but I had brought my own. The AC struggled to keep the room cool. On the positive Ohiopyle Suites was super accommodating of my bike in my room which I appreciate. The staff was super responsive. Ice was available and it was nice and quiet at night. The breakfast was a basic continental but more than sufficient for me.

The property is convenient for those of us arriving by bicycle. I didnt like the way I got messages, so many emails with a link with a list of messages and no way to tell which ones I had already opened and read. When I called a bit confused, the staff person said all the info was in the messages... but then answered my questions nicely. The room was big enough to store our two bikes without being a hazard. The place was clean and the co tine tal breakfast room Was well supplied. Recommend for through bikers.
