"We stayed in a studio room, it was located on an upper floor, which was very nice. With the balcony we had a nice view of the property. All amenities were right there, so made for easy access. Would recommend this resort to all."

"propreté impeccable, personnel aimable dans l'ensemble, sauf un soir au souper l'hôtesse m'est arrivé avec une facture plus élevée et comme raison elle m'a dit que le système n'était pas comme le menu !!!!! évidemment que je n'ai pas accepté sa raison et elle a corrigé le tout mais cela a quand même causé un malaise. L'hôtel est un peu à l'écart du centre mais le tout se fait quand même bien en autobus. Attention toutefois le bus ne prend pas la carte navigante. Le petit déjeuner est passable ( j'ai vu mieux en Europe). Enfin, il y a un grand balcon avec la chambre, malheureusement on ne peut s'y asseoir le soleil est là tout l'après-midi il fait une chaleur insupportable. Dommage !, mais cela n'est pas la faute de l'hôtel. Dans l'ensemble cet hôtel est un bon choix quoique le prix est très élevé."

"The entire property needs to be updated. Old furniture also needs to be replaced. Book early and pay extra for sea and beach view because the view is priceless. The location probably makes up for the outdated property."

"We had a fantastic 9 days here, exploring nearby Caiscais, Lisbon and the surrounding coastline by foot, bike and car while enjoying the superb Hotel Fortaleza. Alexandre, Vitor, Iris and Diogo made us feel so welcome on arrival and were always on hand to address queries. Similarly, the excellent bar and restaurant team (particularly Bruna, Pedro, Mariana, Rui, Daniela and many others, working both in front and behind the scenes) ensured we enjoyed truly excellent breakfasts and a superb selection of snacks, lunches and evening meals. Freshly prepared, nutritious food was abundant alongside a wide variety of breads, scones and pastries baked daily in-house. The view of the Atlantic Ocean and stunning Guincho and Cressima beaches (with all types of surfers) from the breakfast room was uniquely enjoyable as was retiring to the superb foyer day and night to enjoy a drink and beautiful surroundings. Our room was extremely comfortable (the biggest bed I might ever have slept in!) with a full range of complementary coffees, ports, cookies and similar treats. I loved that the hotel, while based on the site of an old fort, combines impressive architecture and furnishings with comfort and elegance - with the maintenance team do a superb job of daily upkeep. One of the best value holidays we've had where we could combine active days with luxurious, relaxing evenings. Thank you so much Petra to you and your superb team - we have glorious memories to look back on and hope to return!"

"This hotel is conveniently located near the marina with the resort centre just 10 minutes walk away. There are lots of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. The hotel had a fab beach bar. The hotel itself was clean and the staff very helpful. The pool area was perfect. Lots of sun loungers. Towels available for use if required. The room itself was large and ours had a small kitchenette which was helpful. We loved this hotel and the resort of cascais even more. I would choose this hotel again and definitely recommend."

"Overall this was a good place for our groupof 7. Please note there is no AC (some references to it in reviews and house rules - but I think they were talking about provided fans), which was fine for the beginning of the week when it was cool and breezy, with night time temperatures cool and refreshing, but the provided fans didn’t cut it the last couple of days when it got very hot and did not cool off at night. It is “walkable” to a few things; but mostly used Uber for every outing - even within Cascais, The closest bus stop was a 19 minute walk, closest supermarket was 20 minutes walk. The shared pool was a nice option, it’s nothing special, a few loungers and a clean pool. We had some trouble with ants in the kitchen. The neighborhood is quiet and we felt safe. Overall, would probably look for something closer to city center and with AC, but those things aside, it was a nice stay."
