"I accidentally booked the wrong dates for my stay. I intended to reserve July 16–18, but mistakenly booked July 15–17. When I arrived on the 16th, the hotel refused to check me in or honor any part of my reservation because I had missed the first night.

Most rooms are uninhabitable (undergoing a "renovation," but I got one with new beds--and a water-soaked carpet that literally soaked my socks the one time I took my shoes off.
