"This was an amazing stay! The property is absolutely stunning inside and out, with expansive views of the Douro Valley. Manuel is an excellent host and even made us dinner reservations at some great restaurants in town. The salt water pool was my favourite amenity. I wish we had planned to stay here for several nights and not just one. "

A car is required to get to the hotel, although I didn’t partake in any of the spa it did look amazing - the pool and the drinks are amazing - the breakfast is amazing where you can sit on the terrace - the restaurant offers good food although I thought it was a bit too much and overly fancy for nothing - and the taste wasn’t really there. "The hotel was in a remote area but had beautiful views and was worth the effort. The swimming pool was a welcome addition as it was very hot when we arrived. The dinner and breakfast were good. There seemed to be a problem with the doors to the rooms which people kept banging to get them to close. Added to that someone managed to open our door when we were almost asleep and the hotel dog ran into our room. Very disconcerting and not condusive to a good nights sleep."
