This is an excellent condo for skiers. It's only a few miles from the Alpine and Palisades base areas of Palisades Tahoe. The Mountaineer provides free, on-call shuttle service to the Alpine Lodge Thursday-Monday. The condo itself is modern, clean, and well-equipped. The balcony overlooks the Truckee River. The traffic on Highway 89 can be a little noisy, though. It's an easy walk to the River Ranch, a popular apres-ski bar and restaurant.

Property was clean. Unit is dark and outdated. Good location.
While the location of the condo was great and very convenient to Alpine the condo itself was very much of need of updating. The worst part was the condition of the master bed/mattress. The bed I had in college thirty years ago was much more comfortable. This bed / mattress set might have been older than that. The carpet and couch was dirty and stained. A deep clean and and a very small investment in some inexpensive IKEA furniture would go a long way here. For the prices you're charging, it's something that's way overdue here.

Misleading advertisement
While the complex may be centrally located right off the Truckee River, this unit is on the end of the building about 150 feet off the noisy highway 89 which was very disappointing. Highway coupled with the darkness of the living room made it very uninviting. The bedroom is in the back of the unit, thankfully, so no highway noise, and also no river sounds lulling one to sleep, per their advertisement. The queen bed has a 3" thick tempurpedic pad, which we found okay, but not great.
The building and unit were clean and well maintained.
Great location and the apartment is very spacious for a 1 bedroom. By the river for summer travel and very close to alpine, served by the mountaineer shuttle which is very convenient. Only issue is kitchenware is old and not super useful. Other than that, great stay
The location is perfect if you plan on going to Alpine, and not far from Palisades. The only complaints we had were the lockbox was hard to get into, the bed is SUPER rock hard (luckily we found a memory foam topper under the bed) the shower curtain is dingy and needs replacing. The lamp by the patio didn’t work, and bare minimal food ware. The hot tub was nasty/not cleaned but the sauna was nice.

Not as expected
I was really disappointed with the condition of the condo. There was damage to the ceiling in the bathroom which happened due to what looks like mold issues (there was also mold residue on the tile grout). The base boards around the entire condo were filthy, especially in the bathroom. There was what looked to be dried blood spots both on the wall and picture frame in the bathroom. The only window in the condo couldn’t be opened because the shade was broken and a note was left asking that it be left down. The bed frame isn’t secured and one of the canopy beams fell on me while I was laying in bed. The smell in the condo was horrible, it smelled of mold. Overall, the amount spent on 3 nights was not worth it due to all of the issues.

clean, convenient but a little dated and noise of road (and river)
The description of the place is misleading. Yes, you see and hear the river, but you also see and hear River Road which is a main road in Tahoe and you have a view of the stoplight at Alpine Meadows Road so it's not as peaceful or nature-like as advertised. We didn't enjoy sitting on the deck as I expected to do since we heard every car and truck go by. So we ended up keeping the door closed and the curtain partly drawn so we didn't look out at the road (other half of sliding door is covered at least with a tree branch). The decor is minimalistic but functional, not cozy. Feels like a well maintained 70s condo. Comfy bed though and is very quiet in the bedroom. Good size kitchenette but again, minimal stocking of items so don't plan a big cookout. Great cafe across the road with yummy breakfast. Did not use the spa or pool which are available - looked nice though small (no lap swimming!). Confusing names as well (at least 3 names used to describe the condo but hopefully they will fix that). In all, a decent place for the price but don't expect a cozy cabin next the to woods/river experience.

Limited heat
The owner chose to limit his energy costs. The room temperature of the condo was restricted, using a remote control smart thermostat, to no higher than 65 degrees Fahrenheit. Not good for cold Tahoe winter nights.

We stayed here for a ski weekend at Palisades and the place perfectly met our needs. Fully equipped kitchen to cook meals and easy access to the slopes.
The only negatives were that a couple of the pots were dirty (it looked like burned on dirty, not unwashed dirty) and we couldn’t find a windshield scraper which would have been helpful to get the snow/ice off our windshield in the morning. Neither of those were deal breakers though and I still strongly recommend the place!
Small, unassuming apartment with everything that we needed. Excellent location - close to Palisades and Tahoe City. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you!
This apartment is perfectly situated for exploring all of Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Being right on the bike/walk path to Tahoe City and Palusades Tahoe made it even better.
Location, location, location, this residence is location in the perfect location. 5 minutes to Squaw Valley, 10 minutes to Tahoe City, horseback riding up the street and right on the Truckee River bike/pedestrian trail. So many miles to explore and activities to take in.
It was pretty comfortable place like a house and the cleaning, the reusable items were almost perfect like a good hotel. The scene in our balcony was unforgettable. You can drink your coffee in the balcony and relax by listening the flow of river.
