This is our second time staying at The Charlotte Hotel. The rooms have a nice traditional feel. Quiet location yet right in town with an easy walk to restaurants (including the new Bread & Butter), shops, and the waterfront. On street parking is plentiful and we've been able to park right in front of the hotel each August stay. Onancock is a peaceful place to stay on the Chesapeake Bay. A great value...we would 100% stay here again.

I thoroughly enjoyed my two-nights stay at Charlotte Hotel. The property is charming and in excellent condition. The breakfast I ate in the on-site restaurant was delicious. The location is conveniently located within walking of restaurants, cafe, pub and a community theater. I would definitely stay here again.

A Quick Stay

We arrived a little bit before the restaurant was supposed to close, but the friendly staff was able to prepare a meal for us and giving us some ideas for breakfast before leaving. Very friendly staff.

A Very Enjoyable Get-Away

Small but comfy, quiet, and clean room. We enjoyed Mallards for dinner & sunset and The Foggy Place and Corner Bakery for breakfast. A short drive to catch the ferry to Tangier Island, where we had an enjoyable day.

Let's start with the good. Great location. Now the rest. The check-in was as follows: open unlocked front door, see an envelope with your name on it, follow the instructions presented in the envelope, climb two steep staircases, go to room our assigned that (like the front door) not locked, get room key hanging from a hook on the wall in the room. (My wife said that if see was alone she would have left, not know if someone unexpected, would be in her room. There was no one else in the building to hear if she screamed. There is three hour parking out front. We asked a stranger where we could park overnight, (turned out there is a lot around the corner). This hotel advertises a bar and restaurant, but both were closed. Fortunately, there is a great Pub across the street. I wouldn't consider this a hotel. More like a Bed and Breakfast (without the breakfast). I'm sure that there are those who would find this "hotel" quaint. It was just not our cup of tea.., even if I could have gotten one!

This was such a quaint hotel. I’m sorry I couldn’t stay longer. The bed was so comfortable and I slept like a baby.

Charming Get-a-way!

It was quaint and adorable! From the front entrance to your room- full a charm. Close to shops & an easy walk to the Inlet! Will definitely come back- as well as recommend to my friends!!!

Lovely upscale hotel/B&B in the quiet, waterfront town of Onancock. Their restaurant served delicious meals & unique cocktails. The staff, especially the manager, Cheyenne, were gracious & accommodating. I’ll be back!

Great quaint town and Hotel.

People and food were excellent. Rooms were good but what needs to be stated is that there is no elevator. However it does have a stair chair for lighter people.

A nice little hotel. In a cute little town. It’s an old property, but it is very very clean. Do to the nature of the building you can hear everyone talking and walking. We were woken at 8:30 this morning by the room above us being vacuumed, which was very loud. Overall a nice stay!
