Our room was spectacular-huge, high ceiling with a great view of the sea. The hotel is beautiful and well kept and landscaped. Access to the sea is very good. It was quiet and peaceful. We loved it.

This hotel never fails to take my breath away. Opatija is already such a beautiful destination and the Kvarner is a gem in the heart of the city. Top notch amenities with direct access to the sea, a stellar breakfast menu with a gorgeous view on the terrace, and clean rooms with all the extras you could ever need. The front desk even takes care of parking to eliminate the stress of finding a spot. This is the place to be if you want 5 star treatment, can’t recommend it enough!

Excelent location for couples, everything is decorated with style, you feel like an aristocrat. Staff is amazing and the access to the see is very convenient. The best is having the complementary breakfast on the terrace. Parking available at the hotel for €35/day, very convenient considering the prices in Opatija. Overall a very pleasant experience! Thank you Kvarner staff for everything.

Great location, friendly competent staff, wonderful complimentary breakfasts, good sized rooms, and fantastic views of the water. It was particularly lovely to sit by the ocean in the late afternoon and evening and watch all the activity on the water. Couldn’t be more relaxing.

Beautiful Hotel; enjoyed our week long stay. The only problem was the lunch service; you just cannot get served. One half hour to get someone to take an order an additional half hour to get served. After the third day, we started lunching elsewhere, there are many options in walking distance. The restaurant needs new management. Edwin was a great server; he had zero help. The hotel is in an excellent location. We would return.

Just about the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in the top. Recently renovated, and it shows. Our third-floor room had a huge balcony with an overhang for shade, and French doors opening onto it from both the bedroom and the bathroom. I never thought a toilet needed a sea view. You get one here, looking out at the Adriatic glistening and rippling, and I don't think I can settle for less going forward. Pay for the sea view. Opened in 1884 as a spa retreat for the Habsburgs. That Austro-Hungarian architecture runs through the hotel and the whole town, so different from the rest of this coast. Breakfast is excellent. The terrace pigeons are extremely aggressive, which keeps the entertainment high. Classic Adriatic stone beach with ladders and steps, but just to the side there's a sandy-bottomed section where you can stand chest-deep and play ball games. The spa is included: two Finnish saunas, a Turkish steam room, and beautiful showers with Lanvin products. We barely used our own shower. You're right in the center, which matters because some Opatija hotels are remote. Roko, one of the best restaurants in town, is across the street. A comparable room in Sicily would run $500 to $600 a night. This isn't close. I'm definitely going back.
