"This is my first time using Bookabach. I started with a list of "I wants" - water view, full kitchen, wifi etc. - without any specific destination in mind and found this gem in Opua. Right from the start Delwyn, the owner, was a pleasure to communicate with; she was always quick with answers to my numerous questions, offered great info and suggestions about the area and was extremely accommodating when I swopped one apartment for another. This classic 1885 building, with two-storied verandahs, was originally an inn owned by an ancestor of the current owner. I believe that the apartments were completely refurbished a few years ago; the result is just beautiful - all the modern facilities you might expect whilst keeping the style true to the buildings original era. The house is situated right on the waterfront with only a small no-exit street in front, there is a ground-floor apartment and a larger one upstairs. We chose to stay in the upstairs one and I thoroughly recommend it as the view from the verandah looks straight out over the harbour. There is a general store about 100 metres up the road, as well as a cafe and a fish 'n' chip shop. There are walkways and cycle tracks nearby and around the waterfront really worth exploring, you can even walk all the way to Paihia. The property manager, Chris, lives onsite and was such a warm and helpful host, he even made us chocolate muffins! We went to do some serious relaxing and this place turned out to be perfect! 10/10"

"The staff are super-friendly here. The location is amazing - the view awesome. You can walk easily to restaurants, shops or pop across to the beach. I loved sitting on the balcony watching people doing their thing. The room was well appointed, clean, neat, had everything you needed and more, plus a washing machine. We really loved staying here and would come back easily."

"Got there in the winter and it was already heated for us. Beds were comfy. Lots of help from Chris the caretaker. Such a wonderful view on a quiet street. Would stay again when we come back."
