"This was such a unique place to stay! I had read so much about the facility, but I never realized it was once a sardine factory. Knowing that made the inside even more fascinating and unique. The staff was absolutely amazing, and the location was perfect for visiting both Campobello and Deer Island. We truly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend this place to others!"

"We loved our stay in this large, lake front home! The view of Gardner Lake is lovely and the house is beautifully decorated. My husband and I were visiting family nearby and we comfortably hosted our son, his wife and their two children for two nights. We enjoyed being in a quiet area and being surrounded by nature. However, it's only a 15 minute drive into Machias which has a nice grocery store, a few good restaurants and a Walgreens. Lucas was a very kind and responsive host. We hope to return to this property next year!!"

"One night stay. Property is being refurbished following a fire in one of the blocks, so, as its the road facing block that burned, when you turn up it looks like a building site. However they are open, using the unaffected blocks at the rear. The room was well appointed and clean. But the bathroom really needs updating. It works well enough, but looks dirty, but I think it's just worn beyond making it clean, IYSWIM."

"Beautiful lakeside home! Quite. Sunsets that are wonderful. Great location to explore the western coast of Maine. Campabello, Jasper Beach, several state parks and a lot of hiking opportunities. September visit so the water a bit cool to swim but beautiful to sit and enjoy. Just an awesome stay."

"The Prowhouse is an amazing property! It was very easy to communicate with Richard. Beforehand, he sent an tremendous amount of material on best ways to spend time in the area, sights to see, places to eat, things to do with kids, on rainy days, etc. The home had well organized binders of all of that information and more - making it so simple to see and do all that you wanted while staying in down east Maine. The home was comfortable and well equipped. It was more like staying with old friends than renting a home off VRBO. Many thanks to the whole Rose family - it was a pleasure to share in your slice of heaven."

"Property was clean and very easy to get to. Directions clear and precise. Cabin was exactly was described on the web site. Clean and well appointed. We enjoyed the gas fireplace on the chilly mornings. We would defintstsy here again if in the area."

"The house was perfect to spend a week with our daughter on her week off. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfy. We were able to walk around Machias, drive to Lubec and Bangor without feeling like we had to rush anywhere. The local beaches were rocky and excellent for walking and catching glimpses of seals. Definitely worth going back to."
