The building itself is very nice and inviting, cosy. The lobby / restaurant area is stylish with original touches.
The overview of the property on Expedia suggested there was a 'private beach' belonging to the hotel 700 yards walking distance away. There was no sign of it and people who walked to the beach told us it was 15-20 minutes' walk away. No entertainment whatsoever, not even a pianist or guitarist playing discrete music. How can it be a 5-star hotel with no entertainment?
Also, there was no sign of the indicated gift shop, although they were selling cigars at the reception area.
The room was good, although the open plan layout (bathroom, toilet and bedroom in the same living space) is a complete nightmare and can easily ruin the holiday for some. This should have been properly and clearly advertised before booking. This is not what I expect from a 5-star hotel.
The breakfast served was exactly the same for 7 days: a piece of baguette / ciabatta bread, a chocolate cookie and a small croissant with the same jams: strawberry ad apricot plus honey. One double espresso per person, one glass of orange juice and one small pot of fresh fruit. The same for 7 days. 5-star hotel? Think again!
There was a Nespresso coffee maker and a kettle in the room, but no coffee provided whatsoever. A box of 10 Nespresso pods can be requested for 9 Euros! Not even instant coffee sachets provided.
Rubbish bin was rusty with a pedal that came off the bin on day 2 and removed by the staff.
