"This is a very nice boutique hotel! Not fancy just very nice and comfortable in a historic building with air conditioning. Walk out the door and you are in the historic town: beautiful for walking and shopping! The restaurants in town are wonderful along the river! Park the car and walk! Justine at the front desk is a wonderful hostess! Friendly place! We are french Canadians so it is easy but English and several other languages are spoken at the hotel! Breakfast was good as well! Merci Beaucoup pour votre courtoisie!"

"This hotel is genuinely quite exquisite. One of the most beautiful I have visited in over thirty years of world travel. The actual setting, experienced amidst the Autumn hues, is genuinely stunning. The walk around the lake was a moment of peaceful heaven each morning and evening, the grounds are immaculate, and there are incredible views from all areas of the restaurant and bar, and the rooms are very pretty, with spacious bathrooms, some with small gardens and others even floating out in the lake with access by boat. Wonderful, attentive staff, a personal favourite was the Concierge, I believe his name was Sylvain? His assistance in helping me navigate the local area via public transport was much appreciated. Small details like names of stops and information regarding places to visit were invaluable, and his bright, friendly company was also such a pleasant addition to the day. A very accomplished restaurant serving excellent meals all throughout the day and the breakfast was quite superb. As you can tell, I very much enjoyed my stay here and would love to return in the Springtime. Easy access to local beaches, Bayonne, Biarritz and St Jean de Luz also."

"Good location. Reception is top floor which wasn’t terribly convenient. Have to pre book parking. I tried but got no response and ended up parked on the street 500m away. Weird spacecraft-style door to the equally strange bathroom and door wouldn’t close properly. Air con didn’t work but they brought us a fan. Can’t get to a bathroom on arrival without key access to a ‘public’ area so if you’ve travelled far stop at services or use airport bathrooms! Bed quite comfy. Breakfast good. Nice views. Nice area to relax and look out from 9th floor at the city. On reflection our overall 4 stars is generous."

"This was a lovely little hotel. The room was clean and comfortable and we had a lovely view from the balcony of our room. Breakfast was good. The hotel doesn't do evening meals but it was only a short walk into Ascain where there were plenty of bars and restaurants. We really enjoyed our stay, would recommend and would return again when in the area"
