Basically everything that could have gone wrong did (planned area wide power outage for 1 day, unplanned area wide water outage for part of day, 5 year old ran through a sliding glass door) and even wjth all of that it was one of the best vacations any of us have had. "The house was perfect for three couples and had an extra bedroom and bath to spare. The outside patio and pool area is really nice to watch the water, visit or play in the pool. Walking to the beach is right off the pool. The location is great on the beach and the restaurants were really good but we also had Garrett come do two meals for us and then also cooked some ourselves at the house. All AC units worked great including in the main area of the house. This was our first time to Costa Rica so...

"Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Spent most of our time there outside. Loved the view and pool. Enjoyed the howler monkeys every morning and evening. It’s outside of Tamarindo about 15-20 min on a dirt road, but it is a nice drive by fields with cows and horses. There is only one part of the road I’d say needs a 4x4 right before the driveway for about 30 ft because it is a steep incline. It was a nice quiet and private reprieve from the tourist areas. Hope to return and bring friends/family...

"This house is uniquely located surrounded by jungle, but easily walkable to town / beach. We enjoyed the pool and watching the monkeys make their way through the tree line surrounding the house. We did not use transportation during our five night stay. We walked to town for groceries, meals, beach, etc. - within 10 minute walks. The pool was great for swimming and we appreciated the shallow end for time with 10 month old! The driveway is a challenge (steep and close to busy road) but walkable to town. "This Hotel is just a dream come true!! Stunning views everywhere you are. Staff is extraordinary, all of them! Food is delicious with an extraordinary assortment of delicious dishes served with the highest of professionalism. You can arrange several activities and tours with the best selection of things to visitor so around, the local guide from the hotel is amazing. The Spa is marvelous, Maria can make your vacation even better working on deep tissue massage. Reception deserve the million dollar price, Erein the front desk supervisor and his team are simply amazing!! Every single detail is covered in this piece of heaven, surrendered by the jungle and the best Pacific views you can dream. Definitely, the best hotel we never been so far. Can wait to come back!"

"Cozy small hotel right in the middle of the forest. You will be able to see howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, multiple species of crabs, iguanas, coatis and squirrells. The hotel is in a walking distance to South Samara Beach, and 3 minute drive to Carrillo Beach (highly recomended)."

"What a beautiful and relaxing space. The owners Jaime and Miri were wonderful, so sweet and friendly. Design is impeccable. Rooms thoughtfully laid out and stunning. The bed was so comfy. Had the best massage at the spa. Also loved the restaurant/bar near the pool. Great food and drinks. I ate every taco they have and they were all genuinely delicious. Can't say enough good things. Really enjoyed my stay, just an excellent place to rest and enjoy. "
