The villa is set amid olive groves, in two acres of walled grounds close to Ostuni.
The villa benefits from an automatic sliding entrance gate.
While we occupy the ground floor, the first floor has been converted into a self-contained apartment. The conversion was originally undertaken so that our children and grandchildren could have their own space when they came to stay, love your grandchildren as you do, you cannot say they are not disruptive at times. And it is nice from time to time to leave the fray in order to recapture the peace and tranquillity we have found here.
You gain access to the apartment via your own flight of stairs, you then enter through a well-appointed kitchen-dining room, and on into the lounge with library chairs, TV, stereo, and built-in glass-fronted log fire, there is a large ceiling fan in this room. To the right are two doors the first is a washroom with a toilet, bidet, and large hand basin, and the second is the shower room, again with a toilet shower enclosure and large hand basin.
Straight in front of you are French windows that open onto a covered terrace, although we call this the breakfast terrace it catches the sun all day long, from here you can see the herb garden and you can assess the upper terrace by a set of stairs gated at the top. there are two more flights of stairs from here, one to the roof with a lockable gate at the bottom and the second fire escape stairs with a gate at the top that leads to our private veranda at the bottom.
