"We had an authentic Japanese experience staying here. The location was perfect - the house was on a quiet street while still being very close to the main attractions in the Gion area. The interior was beautiful, clean and well insulated with heated floors and AC in each room. Beds were very comfortable and the upstairs living offered a lovely veiw of the Yasaka Pagoda. The staff were incredibly attentive without ever feeling overbearing, and every little detail felt intentional, from the scent in the hallways to the way the room lighting changes with the time of day. It is amazing how quiet and calm it is, considering it is just steps from one of Kyoto’s busiest tourist streets. The perfect mix of luxury, hospitality, and serenity."

Was so nice returning here at the end of the day with all the tourists around you it’s just one simple door from the street and you’re transported to the oasis of Sowaka.
