It’ s a great place close to everything. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The host was very responsive when we asked for directions. The room is located above a bar so as mentioned in the description music can be heard. We did go to the bar and enjoyed a beverage. This stay was a wonderful experience and highly recommend! I would stay again!

This was a great property to stay at. The challenges we had were more around accessing the key as we didn't now which box to get it from. Also the rating does not allow for n/a which for this place refers to the staff and the amenities, assuming amenities means pool/workout room etc. The apartment was awesome and I loved the balcony for my morning coffee. Thank you

This was our second stay, and once again, we had a wonderful time. Due to severe weather, our arrival was significantly delayed and we didn’t get to the hotel until very late at night. Despite the late hour, the staff were very kind and accommodating, which was incredibly reassuring. During our stay, we had a minor issue with the door to our room, but when we contacted the staff, they responded right away. We really appreciated how quickly they took care of it. We’re very grateful to everyone for their kindness and hospitality. We’ll definitely stay here again the next time we visit Ottawa!

Bright and modern well equipped 1 bedroom apartment on the main street of Old Aylmer was perfect for a short, or extended, stay. Very clean and comfortable within walking distance to lots of restaurants. Appreciated the a/c as we were there during a heat wave. Would recommend and hope to return.

My husband and I stayed at the British Hotel for two nights. The location, parking, easy access to the room, and neighbourhood were excellent. Unfortunately, the building has very poor sound insulation. We stayed on the second floor, and on our last night, someone repeatedly walked very quickly in the room above us throughout the night. It was not occasional noise—it happened every couple of hours and significantly disrupted our sleep. There was also loud music coming from the pub downstairs. We reported the issue, but did not receive a response until the following morning, and no compensation or gesture was offered for the inconvenience. Overall, we enjoyed the location and convenience, but the noise seriously affected our stay.

Beautiful property and easy to find location. Room was spacious and bright with all the mod cons you’d need for a quick stay. Check in/out is done remotely, but instructions provided were very clearly and easy to follow. I will note that when I reached out with a question I got replies back promptly (within mins) which made it a really great experience. Area around the hotel is quaint with lots of easy walks along tree lined streets, a few blocks away from the marina (which is great when travelling with a dog). There are some small restaurants close by, but the hotel has one attached that has great food. There’s also convenient (limited) street parking but also underground parking with easy access to the hotel.

Great boutique type hotel. Close to lots of restaurants and marina. Very quiet neighbourhood. Street parking was convenient after rush hour. Hotel is clean and nice. The renovated historic hotel is exactly as pictured. Great reno. Would only recommend a hair dryer in the suite.

The amenities are very good. Clean and roomy rooms. There should be better communication between Expedia and the British Hotel as its more complicated to get info than it should be. My key out of the lockbox did not have the room number on it. I would suggest a clearer message with room number, lock ox number and code all together in the check-in message.
