"I liked the guy in charge of the place and this place was very, very cheap, so one can not expect much. Further more, we are Danish, so maybe we are spoiled. Never the less, we booked for 18 people (two times 9 bed dorms). We called in advance to make sure we knew what to bring. We were instructed only to bring towels. When we arrived there were only mattresses for 12 people, pillows and linnen for 8. We could have brought that stuff, so it was dissapointing that we were not told when we called....

"It was a beautiful location with awesome views and the grounds were beautiful though could have been more well maintained. We booked the room with the dome that opened but it wasn’t working and there was a leak in the sink. They tried to fix the roof but could not get it fixed during our stay. We paid full price but they tried to compensate by giving us free drinks. The staff was excellent but I will stay at another property next time we visit."

"Location, Location, Location - is perfect - near the main square and centrally located to all the churches and historical sites. The hotel staff were absolutely amazing and very relaxed from check in, parking and breakfast service. Thank you all very much for making our stay in Ouro Preto a wonderful one!! "Fantastic location for easy walk to town and sights. Beautiful historical property. Bed has all of the creaks and sounds of its age but mattress very comfortable and got a great night's sleep. Angelica took very good care of us. Excellent breakfast. Parking a challenge if arrive mid-day but in the evening we found a spot very close to hotel."
