This was a charming place, very conveniently located in Ouray. The rooms were small but cute, and the breakfast was substantial and delicious. The common fridge was handy to store our cold items and re-freeze the cooler packs for the next day.

What a cute place. We stayed in room 2. Check in was basically just finding our room, signing up for a breakfast time and unpacking. The beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, especially the day they served French toast with berries and bacon. Location was perfect. Can’t wait to return some day.

The best review I can write about is that I didn't want to leave. The Bear Manor is a special place. It is a great jumping off point for many adventures. I loved the staff and open breakfast where you could interact with others seeking adventures. It had everything I needed and nothing I didn't.

The only thing I would have liked is charging capabilities at the bedside for phones, or in our case, hearing devices. Other than that, although there were hot springs surrounding us, we took advantage of the hot tub. Breakfast was delicious, and much appreciated. The hosts were so nice! A map of the town is available. Towels and pool robes were offered for free, with the only rule to please return them. We had a GREAT stay! Thank you!

Fantastic location 2 blocks from Main Street in Ouray. Quiet neighborhood, and nice curb appeal. The rooms are small but very adequate. Clean, quiet, and comfortable. Hot showers!!! The staff is the difference at Black Bear Manor. They are friendly, helpful, and there when you need them. The snacks and the breakfast are 5 Star!!! We ended up staying an extra night because we couldn’t stand the thought of leaving!!! Kudos to Black Bear!!!

Nice property in a great location with comfortable beds and an exceptional home cooked breakfast. Our issue was this, we had been out for dinner and when we returned to our room, most of the power outlets were not functioning, including the one running the portable AC. I found a number to call/text, but no one answered to either. I found a breaker panel but that was not the issue. After some time looking around, found another panel with a tripped breaker, which I reset. This solve the electrical issue, but then the AC began making a horrible noise. Upon inspection, found the air filter was so clogged, the machine could barely function. Spent several minutes cleaning and washing the filter and then replaced it. This eliminated the noises and we had no more issues. No one ever responded to my texts. The next morning, I learned that the power also affected the adjacent room. Bottom line, great place to stay so long as everything is in order, and don’t expect anyone to help you with any problems.
