Perfect for our needs
This home worked very well for our group of 4 attending races at Watkins Glen. The home was clean with the right amount of space with good off street parking.
Great location and price. Close to Ovid which has a nice diner, small grocery store, and walking distance to the state park and lake view. In addition the east side of the Seneca lake has plenty of winery options which start right there in Ovid. The dining room and living room were spacious, and kitchen had great counter space - appreciated the kerig machine.
Perfect location - very nice 2 BR with a lot of living space and nice views - enjoyed the fenced in yard. Host very responsive and very well furnished kitchen. Would highly recommend
We had a great time in this home. Short drive to the wineries, quiet neighborhood. Everything as described - including the steep stairs. We were even given snacks and coffee! Thank you!

Very nice stay
House was comfortable, clean, tidy. Beds were comfortable. Nice large lawn. Quiet street. Not giving 5 stars for a couple simple things… there should be a couple more patio chairs To sit outside; the heating system, while nice and toasty, was very loud when it started. There’s minimal supplies so come prepared. I would book again but bring things
This was an older home with character and was very cute. We were worried about how “cool” it would be with portable a/c’s and it being hot and humid but it was not an issue. They were set at 64 and the house was nice and cool when we arrived. The back porch was perfect in morning and evenings to sit outside and enjoy the bunnies and wildlife. The only thing I would have to say on the negative was that the whole first floor would benefit from having the floors washed or steam mopped. They were sticky and our feet and the soles of our socks were quite dirty from walking around. This is an easy fix. Unfortunately it was way too hot to enjoy the fire pit. Maybe next time. Comfortable stay.

Last Minute Family Getaway with dog
We found this dog friendly home, close to Senaca Lake and central to many attractions, a pleasant & comfortable stay. Desite the fact that the home is very old, the property owner has made updates, with appliances, air conditioning and some new furniture. The beds were very comfortable which is important when you're hiking and active. The kitchen had all amenties we needed for breakfast and packing lunches for our hikes. (We ate dinner out ea evening.) Lots of space for our mid size dog outside and inside the house which is a huge win since that's tough to come by in a rental.
Downsides- The neighborhood is very quiet and seems safe but with the vacant institution across the street and some run down homes near by. I may not have chosen this property had I realized that.
Floors are uneven and stairs steep, if you're older or have small children it's something to consider but was no problem for us.
Overall, this stay was good experience. Thank you.

Enjoyed our family time, but......
The property was adequate for our needs and we did enjoy our time there together with our family from Canada and it's a convenient location to hit the wineries and breweries in the area. However, even though the house is cute, it is in need of a deep cleaning as the windows and screens were dirty, the stove was greasy and the floors need scrubbing. There's really not enough kitchen equipment to be able to properly cook meals. Like, pots, pans, plates, silverware, utensils. You couldn't have the air conditioners upstairs below 76 degrees, as there was a note in the kitchen that said doing so would cause the fuses to blow. The curtains in the upstairs front bedroom were old and starting to fall apart as were the shades. We couldn't enjoy the picnic table because the paint was flaking and peeling off. There isn't enough adequate outdoor seating for more than 4 people. There's a really nice covered porch on the back of the house but there is no patio furniture, so we had to temporarily move the patio furniture that was available from the patio area to the porch. It would also have been good to know that the State Facility across the street was closed and abandoned. It was a little creepy and depressing. A little TLC would go along way with the property.
The house had a nice cottage vibe. The kitchen could use a few more cooking utensils. It was pretty far out from the places we wanted to visit (Watkins Glen, Corning, Ithaca) but it worked out fine, and there aren't many places that fit 7 people and a dog. We appreciated being able to take our pupper with us. It's a good middle spot if you also want to go north to Seneca Falls and Syracuse, and right in the middle of tons of wineries and breweries if tastings are your thing.
The house was VERY clean and comfortable. Plenty of room for four people and two dogs. Really loved the location because it was close to both lakes and lot of restaurants and wineries. We went to Rylee’s Place down the street for breakfast one day and it was very good. Would absolutely stay here again!
It was adequate for what we needed. The kitchen could use more cooking supplies and utensils.

Toilet was leaking through ceiling over dining room. Also, switch plate and receptical plate were electrically live, GFI didn’t work. Property owner was slow to respond. But, the recommendation to use the powder room on the first floor was not practical. Property didn’t have fenced in yard as described
I did not see the sign in the kitchen that said the dog must be on a leash and the lady next door went crazy. Other than that the trip was amazing and the dog stayed on the leash from that point forward.
The house was very nice. There is a breakfast/lunch place just down the street in walking distance. We were confused about "Willard" and tried to find the town. Nearest real town is Ovid. Limited eating options there. At the end of the street is a nice place to see the sun set over the lake. House was just as pictured on the site. We didn't build a fire but wood and ring for outside fire was there. Would be great for kids with big back yard and play equipment. Stairs are sort of steep if that is an issue.

Definitely not my favorite
This house was not homey and welcoming at all. Stairs were super steep and slippery. I think we left it cleaner then when we got there. Lighting was awful. Smoke detectors missing batteries. Unfortunately I wouldn’t recommend. It was located in a decent spot for winery’s but not great.
