Stairway To Haven is your perfect vacation spot on Seneca Lake!!
6964 E. Lake Road, Ovid, NY 14521 (dead-end street)

**From Memorial Day to Labor Day the house is rented by the week, from Sunday to Sunday only. The rest of the year has a two night minimum.**

The House:
This stunning 3-level Contemporary Colonial Home is right on the water and has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.. An upscale luxury home that provides everything you will need for a relaxing, stress-free vacation. Every level has a lake view that won't disappoint.

Top level features a gorgeous Master bedroom with a King-size bed, spacious on-suite, soaking tub with a lake view, water closet, coffee/wine station, desk/work area and private balcony. Enjoy your morning coffee or sip some wine in the evening and take in all that lake life has to offer.

Middle level features a comfortable living area with a vaulted ceiling and open floor plan. The living room has a sectional sofa, 65" tv and a 2-story stone gas fireplace. The kitchen is stocked with everything you will need to prepare meals with ease. The dining area has a bay window and gives you exceptional views of the lake while you dine. The table comfortably seats eight and the island has three stools. There are two bedrooms on this level; one bedroom features a Queen-size bed and the second has a Twin-size bed and a twin trundle bed. Each room has a tv and they share a full size bathroom. This level also includes a spectacular wrap-around porch. There is plenty of seating, including a daybed. Peek around the corner and you will see a gas grill available.

Lower level suite features a private bedroom with a Queen-size bed including a tv and DVD player, kitchen area, kitchen table, living area with tv, full-size sofa-sleeper, full bathroom and laundry room.

The Game Room:
The garage has been transformed into a brand new game room. Grab a partner and play pool, ping pong, air hockey, bubble hockey, foosball, darts or shuffleboard. Take a bike ride on one of the four bicycles provided. A refrigerator/freezer is also available to keep your drinks cold.

The Backyard:
Lounge on the 125' of lakefront property or hang out on the dock with lots of seating provided. An indoor storage area has everything you will need: floaties, coolers, outdoor entertaining trays, drink buckets, beach towels, children's activities, grill accessories, life jackets and many games. The stone patio area offers a large outdoor dining area with market umbrellas, custom stone gas grill and custom stone gas fire table. Not enough? There are many places to relax: lounge chairs, hammock or the Adirondack chairs surrounding the firepit. You can also bring your boat or jet ski on vacation (let me know if you intend to bring a boat or jet ski). Tie up on the dock or use the lifts.

Still want more? All this is on the East side of the lake in Ovid, where there is a panoramic view of every sunset.

The Destinations:
Your lakeside retreat is located in the heart of wine country. You'll be surrounded by wineries, breweries and cideries. Need more activities? Sampson State Park offers biking trails, hiking, swimming, a playground, arcade, movies, pontoon rentals, boat launch and boat trailer storage. They also have live music and a food truck every Friday evening. There is a walking/biking trail to Sampson State Park just past the house at the end of the road. Try your luck at Del Lago Resort/Casino. Spend the day shopping at Waterloo Premier Outlets. Bring your golf clubs and play at Bonavista State Golf Course. Don't forget all that Taughannock State Park has to offer: waterfalls, gorge trails, swimming and hiking. Ovid also has many fruit and vegetable stands. Ithaca, Watkins Glen and Geneva are only a half hour away and offer festivals, boat cruises, night life, shopping and restaurants.

Amazing Home

The home was wonderful and a perfect place for friends or families to have a great time. Game room in garage was a huge success. Everything was top notch with anything you would need for a vacation. Thoughtful gift basket when we arrived which our whole group loved. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a place to stay on Seneca Lake.

Gorgeous house and location!

We stayed with another family for a long weekend and everyone absolutely loved the house. It was a wonderful stay and we all agreed we would love to come back. The house was absolutely gorgeous and extremely clean. Jill was an amazing host who thought of everything plus some extra special details! The house had everything we needed plus some extra special touches like snacks, bikes, and floaties. We also loved being so close to the park. We had so much fun! I wish we could have stayed longer.

Lake House Living

Gorgeous property on Seneca lake. The views were amazing and the lake not very busy. The house itself had pretty much everything you need just like your own house, except a pitcher but we made it work! There are games galore inside and out plus the game room. You cannot be bored. The master bedroom was my favorite and I wanted to take it home.😊 Thank you so much Jill!!! It was just what the family wanted.

Great time on the lake

We had a lovely time at Stairway to Haven on Seneca Lake. Jill was a fantastic host and a pleasure to work with. The property was exactly as expected and more than met our needs for a weekend away with family and friends. The weather was lousy, but we wanted for nothing, as Jill had thought of everything! The game room was a godsend with 3 kids aged 10 & under... We did not hear "I'm bored" once all weekend, despite the rain. The views of the lake were amazing, the covered porch was a favorite spot for admiring the view. We hope to return in the warmer months to enjoy the lake even more. 10/10 would recommend!

Great Holiday Break Getaway

The property is simply stunning. The finishes, furniture, and amenities are evocative of a very high quality home. The decor is fresh yet classic. No cheesy lake house/cottage vibes or smells here! It was incredibly clean upon arrival. The host puts a lot of thought into everything- we were even greeted with a sweet basket of goodies for New Year’s Eve! The game room was a great touch and full of high quality fun, but the lack of heat made it hard to enjoy in the winter when we stayed. It would be a huge attraction for kids in summer though! We stay in the FLX every New Year’s Eve and this house was the best one we’ve been to yet! Kudos to the host for her gorgeous place.

Outstanding Rental

We stayed two weeks, September - October, and hated to leave. Very relaxing, spacious, and functional house on all three floors with lots of glass and light and fabulous views. We found every room to be very comfortable and fully furnished/supplied, particularly the kitchen. We loved using the gas fireplace on cold evenings, but the balcony, deck, and terrace--where we spent the most time--stole the show, especially at sunset! The gas fire pit on the terrace is awesome at night. And the double car garage serves as an incredibly furnished game room. The central but secluded (and quiet!) location of the house was perfect for our trips to the area wineries and cities, and we daily walked the wide, paved trail along Seneca Lake, which runs through Sampson State Park and begins just a few houses down the street. The trail has clearings and benches to view the lake and can be used on foot or bicycle. This house has it all, and the owner was very responsive to our questions. We wouldn't hesitate to go back, and highly recommend it.

Stunning home with all the bells and whistles

After spending a week at this lake front property I have a full appreciation of why it named, “Stairway to Haven.” It truly is a spectacular space inside and out. The owner has thought of it all and beyond. With 5 adults and 5 children together (ages 3-11) this house did not disappoint!!!! There was ample space for all. From a well- stocked kitchen, the fluffy couch pillows & blankets and comfy beds to all the outdoor yard games, floats, beach towels and a gas fire pit, etc! Oh, and the bikes and game room too. I can’t think of what is missing! You simply need to pack a suit, some lounge wear and groceries- that’s it! (We went to the Wegmans in Geneva and Big M close by) The lake view patios are such great spaces and east for all ages to enjoy ! We had one pretty rainy afternoon but hung out on the covered porch all day- read books, kids water colored rocks and did crafts. Adults enjoyed coffee to cocktails! Jill was very prompt to see how check in went and asked if we had any questions. She was easily accessible through our week too. The home was very welcoming and clean. Jill has it contemporarily-decorated so nicely. Overall, the amenities, decor and location of the house made for such a relaxing and enjoyable week. We would love to stay again!

July 2025 is our second summer returning back to this luxury lake home. Jill is fantastic to communicate with and pays attention to all the small details throughout the house, and lakefront. We noticed several upgrades from the previous summer, which were added bonuses to what was already a very comfortable and relaxing experience. Our family consists of ages: 1,5,8,9,11,13, mid 40 adults and Grandma. There is something for everyone, no matter the age. The “floaty room” shouts water fun for the kids (with all the lake toys a kid can dream of using). The covered porch is great for crawling littles and Gma. The game room is a hit for all. Fishing was also really good for the boys this year. Jill has thought of everything- from the amazing towel warmers, luxury bedding & blankets to spare toiletries and the fully equipped kitchen (I could go on)! We used baby gates, a highchair and pack-n-play that were also provided. We took bike rides and stroller walks on the Sampson State path at the end of the street. To simply put it, just pack your suit, some lake cozy clothes and groceries. The rest is there for you upon arrival- we also loved the 1st birthday welcome basket for our younger little guy, which kicked off our week right. Thank you for another fantastic week!

Absolutely beautiful!

We were a group of military veterans and spouses who meet every two years in different locations as we are scattered. This by far was our favorite place. The hosts have so thoughtfully accommodated every need and more. The home is beautifully decorated and clean. The property manager was wonderful and the views are to die for. If you are going to the finger lakes, this is the place to stay!!

Fabulous House!

What a beatiful house! It was right on the lake with gorgeous views, impeccably appointed and spotlessly clean. The house sports a garage full of games, 2 fire pits, a barbeque, a hammock, a dock and multiple outdoor seating areas. The bathrooms had baskets of toiletries, the bedrooms had lavendar pillow spray and the kitchen had a Keurig and choclate-dipped biscotti. Jill was immediately resposive to our communications and left us a "Congratulations Graduate" gift basket after I mentioned that we were there for our daughter's graduation from Cornell. This was by far the best house we have ever stayed in; it far exceeded all our expectations. 10 out of 10 recommend.

This place lives up to the pictures…beautiful, clean and upscale. The amenities were amazing, from the towel warmer to the bath bombs to the welcome basket….and even sugar free syrups for my coffee! The views were spectacular. We would revisit and recommend. Thank you!

Decadent weekend at the lake!

Our group of 8 ladies just finishing spending the weekend at beautiful Stairway to Haven! Everything we could ever want was there, beautiful views outside every floor. Even though it was a windy, rainy weekend, we made the most of the views, the game room in the garage, and simply just celebrating a bride to be ina beautiful place! Clean and thoughtful items/toiletries for use. Well stocked kitchen. Expresso machine was a treat. FYI lots of stairs!

Thanksgiving retreat

Overall it was amazing! Jill was very friendly, helpful and communicative! House was stunning, property was stunning. Neighborhood was something out of a Steven King novel. But the bed covers were stained with what looked like old blood.

Beautiful home spent with good friends

We are three retired couples who were looking for a spacious, centrally located home to explore our first trip to the finger lakes area. Stairway To Heaven certainly provided this. The home was simply gorgeous, just as advertised in the home description. But beware if you are of the older generation, there are a bunch of stairs to navigate but so well worth the effort! Jill was great, answering the questions we had almost instantly, helping us "old folks" figure out things like internet connections and smart tv's. Only complaint...the weather was abysmal but that only made this great home more relevant. Also take a moment to look up the history of the Willard area. Fascinating!

Beautiful home in FLX!

Thank you for a great week at the Finger Lakes. The house was perfect for our family. We each felt like we had our own private section of the house the way the bedrooms are spread out. The kitchen has all the amenities one could want. And the lakeside toys were plentiful. We enjoyed some beautiful sunsets on the pier. Highly recommended.

Home away from home

We just stayed at this property for a week with our family of 5( children 5, 6 and 8 years old), my parents and brother and his girlfriend. We were greeted with a lovely welcome basket, nice cold ac and a meticulous house. The house layout gave everyone their own space. It was perfectly equipped with everything we would need to prepare meals and be comfortable. The children LOVED the lake and the game room. It was truly the perfect place to call home for the week and retreat to after exploring the beautiful finger lakes. We biked from the property to Sampson state park, watched sunsets from the dock and enjoyed firepits under the stars. Jill was so easy to work with. Her house is truly a gem And we cannot wait to come back!

What a gem this home is! Jill has been so great to work with from booking months ago to check in. The house was clean and exactly as we expected based on the listing. Beautiful, Well-Appointed Home

It is a beautifully maintained and furnished property directly overlooking the lake. There were lots of little extras that made the stay special such as quality toiletries and a generous welcome basket with snacks, wine gifts and a large bottle of wine. Kitchen supplies were of high quality and everything was well stocked including coffee and spices. The house had plenty of room for three adult couples as each of us had our own floor and bathroom. It's a great place for those with extended families. It was too cold and snowy to enjoy the outside decks, firepit and game room in the garage but the views were spectacular. Water sources and showers did emit a strong smell of sulphur. We utilized the water filter on the fridge door. For older people, the many sets of stairs may pose a problem. The owner Jill was very responsive and easy to book with. She didn't cut corners in making this a comfortable experience for guests. So many amenities to enjoy especially in warmer weather.

Amazing Thanksgiving!

The house was an incredible spot to celebrate my birthday, Thanksgiving, and to make special family memories on Seneca Lake. Everything was clean, and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was fully stocked and the beds were out of this world comfortable. Would definitely stay in the house again and hope to!! Jill was responsive and left me the nicest birthday basket upon arrival. 10/10 would recommend!
